Description of Surefire LED 80 Lumens Lamp Reflector Assembly

Light emitting diode/reflector assembly that converts any SureFire flashlight that uses a P60, P61, P90, or P91 incandescent lamp assembly into a longer-running (and higher-output when replacing a P60 lamp assembly) LED flashlight. The P60L's solid-state LED and precision reflector create a smooth, 80-lumen beam that's bright enough to temporarily overwhelm an aggressor's night-adapted vision. And it continues producing useful light levels for up to 12 hours on a single set of batteries, depending on which flashlight model it's used in. Unlike LED conversion heads, which replace the flashlight's entire bezel assembly, the P60L replaces only the incandescent lamp/reflector assembly. Simply unscrew the flashlight bezel, remove the incandescent lamp assembly, and drop in the P60L.

Customer Review: Bright LED bulb
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

Great upgrade for the surefire G2Z. Brighter bulb than the stock bulb, nearly impossible to break and much longer battery life. Would highly recommend upgrading from stock incandescent bulb.

Customer Review: Surefire LED the way to go
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

Replacing the incandescent lens/bulb with LED saves a ton on batteries. Good product. Makes the best flashlight.

Customer Review: Great bulb
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

Lots of light, durable, just what I was looking for. Makes my old Surefire 6P perform like new.

Customer Review: Great improvement
Sport shop rating: 4 Stars

I purchased this replacement bulb and use the flashlight as a back up. With new batterys in the flashlight, I noticed a visible increase in the brightness as well as the life of the batteries. The beam is focused to a workable spot light. I recommend this to anyone with a Surefire Z2 flashlight.

Customer Review: Doesn't work reliably.
Sport shop rating: 3 Stars

I bought this to upgrade my 10+ year old 6P. While I'd never had any problems with the xenon bulb assembly, I stopped carrying it because I could get so much more light out of newer, smaller, LEDs. When I saw this replacement assembly, it seemed like a great solution.

Unfortunately, the LED is much, much more sensitive than the xenon, and unless the on/off button is pressed exactly right, I don't get full illumination. While the xenon was either on or off, the extra sensitivity of the LED gives me either 10-20 lumens, 40 or so, or occasionally the full rated 80 lumens. Unfortunately, there's no telling which you'll get when you hit the button. This makes it completely useless for any kind of tactical situation.

I'm not faulting the LED assembly for this, but be warned if your light is an older one, you might not get the performance out of this assembly that you should.

To date, I haven't found any solution either. I could order a new buttcap/switch assembly, but they're $35-45, so I might as well just buy a whole new light.
