Description of Surefire 6P LED Single Output LED Flashlight

The 6P LED is a compact high-output flashlight featuring a hard-anodized aerospace aluminum body. It uses a virtually indestructible power-regulated LED and a precision micro-textured reflector to produce a smooth 80-lumen beam?four times the light of a big two-D-cell flashlight, and more than enough to temporarily blind and disorient an aggressor by impairing his night-adapted vision.

Customer Review: These lights are awesome!
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

I bought this light to keep by my bedside in case of an intruder. I'm not law enforcement but I do "pack" all the time. The amazing thing about these lights is the intensity of the beam. When I go out at night in the neighborhood to walk the dog, having the light actually makes me feel more secure. Not for the obvious reason, either (not falling into a hole). I've been approached or rushed by loose dogs and flashing this light into their eyes will bring them to a dead and dazed stop! I think that if someone tried to mug me that shining the light into their eyes would blind them so badly they'd call their attack off and try to get the heck away, which would save me from the hassle of shooting them.
Surefire has a stellar reputation in the tactical, law enforcement, self defense world and they certainly deserve it. This is a work of metal art. Very ruggedly made, just the right size to stick in your pocket. I've owned it for several months now and the batteries are still going stong. Whenever I buy another flashlight, it'll be a SureFire. Also, this particular model, the 6P LED, is a good value in their line and compared to other brands, like Streamlight, as well. I would think anyone, man or woman, would love to get one of these as a gift, even it they don't realize it now!!!

Customer Review: Top Quality Light
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

Black glossy metal, brighter (80 lumens), longer run time, what more could you ask for? The new version of the 6P just got better.

Pros:
*New LED 80 lumens tactical level light. Blindingly bright, good "sidespill", decent "throw."
*Nice, solid feel thanks to the metal
*Lasts longer than incandescent models.
*Same compact size
*Can be used for self-defense either to blind opponent, or to strike individual if things get rough.

Cons:
*I also own a Surefire E1B, also 80 lumens. When I compared the E1B to the 6PLED, the E1B outperformed the 6P. It has a better throw. This was somewhat disappointing.
*The peripheral light ("sidespill") is a bit dim compared to other tactical lights I have.
*Although it is more energy efficient, it still runs on 123A's, which are expensive. Cannot use rechargeable cells because it might damage the circuits.

Customer Review: Powerful, well-built flashlight
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

It's almost misleading to call this a "flashlight" because it's really in a class of its own above and beyond most flashlights, even MagLites. This is a well-engineered and solidly constructed tactical light. It's expensive, yes, but the quality and power of this flashlight are worth the cost. The beam it produces is far more intense than anything else I have ever used and is bested only by 500,000+ candlepower handheld spotlights. It is visible in broad daylight and can illuminate objects at night from 100 meters away. As far as the build quality goes, the whole light is made out of thick, anodized aluminum. Drop it or handle it roughly and it will still last you ten years.

Customer Review: Fantastic flash light, beware 12 hour battery life claim
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

By far the best flashlight I've ever owned. As far as lighting things up, it's better than my 4D Maglite (the latter's heft, however, can be comforting). On the packaging, this SureFire claims 11-12 hour run time, but the enclosed instructions say this is at "1 lumen" - a setting you can't get with the flashlight. It also says 1 hour at full output. I believe that, but haven't verified it. My recommendation is "Buy it" - you will not regret it. Buy two - one for you and one for a family member/friend.

Customer Review: AWSOME!
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

This flashlight is awsome! I am in Iraq at the moment and the base I am on is poorley lit, So this little flashlight helps alot. It packs alot of punch to be so small. I carry it with me everywhere. The only thing I would change or want is a belt clip. But it sure does send out all 80 of those lumens. It doesnt really get that hot, and the battery life is excellent for high performance. I highly recomend this product to anyone!
