This is a great tabletop hockey game - it brings back a lot of memories. The player action and coverage is superb, as the left winger can reach behind the opposition net, and the goalies can swivel and actually shoot the puck! My number one challenge is to score a goal by my goalie. The ice surface is actually a thin sheet of teflon so the puck moves really easily which makes for a fast game. There is no need to use a marble (ie an allie) or a wooden puck with a ball bearing implanted on the bottom. The game is rugged and stands up well as verified by the pounding it has taken from two sixty year old former teenagers!
I very highly recommend this STIGA game. I can see why this is the only tabletop hockey game endorsed by the NHL.

I don't know a right wing from a center, but this game is a BLAST! Nice to have an old-fashioned game that doesn't need a TV or even electricity. This game is of high quality, and if you should ever wear out parts you can order spare bits, right down to more hockey pucks or a new net. There's lots of websites out there too that give tips on how to lube the rods and tracks, make the ice surface extra slippery smooth and generally keep the game in tip-top shape. This game has lots of playability for for multiple generations. It develops hand-eye coordination in the younger crowd, but I'd recommend adult supervision with any kids that may be overly rough with their toys.Customer Review: Great Game

We got this as a Christmas gift for our 14 YO son. It has been a blast to play. It's kind of pricey but seems to be of good quality. The players are gear-driven rather than spring-driven so there is much less "give" in these players. They use a nifty little damper to keep the puck from hitting the back of the net and coming out - this avoids many discussions about whether the puck was in or not. The only issue we have had is that the players tend to ride upwards over the course of play. This results in the stick being too high off of the surface to hit the puck. You need to take a quick time out to reseat the players.Customer Review: Great "old - fashioned" fun!

Bought this item as a gift for my 9-year old grandson. Don't know who had more fun........the boy, his siblings, his father and/or grandfather. It was so "heartwarming" to see them all so excited about a gift that didn't need batteries or need to be hooked up to a computer or tv to use and enjoy. Guests on Christmas also had interesting comments/memories of playing the game as kids themselves. Great "old-fashioned" fun! Would recommend it as a gift for all ages. I ordered the Stiga hockey table as a surprise Christmas gift for my 2 sons, ages 15 and 23. They both think it's really cool and fun to play with, even in this age when video games rule! This table-top hockey table is very sturdy, and just the right size. The design of the table and players is very realistic, and you can even replace the teams that come with the table (the Red Wings and Maple Leafs) with your favorite teams (sold online). I highly recommend the Stiga hockey table as a family game for anyone (and not just hockey fans).
