I eat lunch approximately 5 - 6 hours after adding it to my Stanley Food Jar and my food is still hot. I've had great success preheating my food jar with hot tap water instead of boiling water prior to adding my food. This saves me a lot of time preparing my lunch in the mornings.
The 17 oz. jar is big enough to hold a large serving of soup. The cup on top of the jar only holds 12 oz. of food so there may be times you have to pour out a second helping, but I like the size of the bowl and the container so it has never been a problem for me.
This product is also very easy to clean. There aren't any crevices or hard to reach places that can trap food.

I bought this product because I like to have a hot lunch and my old food jar wasn't keeping my food hot enough. I've use this jar for soup. I was very impressed it kept the soup hot. I packed it at 8:20 a.m. and opened it to eat at 11:30 a.m. I followed the directions...poured boiling water in it, let it stand for 5" before putting hot soup into it. It was so hot I had to blow on it before I can eat it. Steam rose from it when I got to the bottom. Yes as another reviewer stated...the soup was hotter at the bottom of the jar. I ate the soup directly from the jar. I was too lazy to pour it out into the top. I'm going to by another for my coffee.Customer Review: Excellent Thermos

I was looking for a thermos for my son's lunch that I came cross this one in amazon. i went to target and looked at all different kinds of thermos to make sure I am getting the best. Oh.. This is a great product. My son is very happy that after two years he can have my food hot for lunch. I had his leftover yesterday and I was amazed how warm it was after 13 hours and being open at lunch time for God knows how long. I warm up some water in the morning and pure it in the thermos and then warm up my son's lunch to make sure inside the thermos is warm when I fill it with the hot food. hands done, this is the best... Just what I needed. I pour in the boiling water, heat up, then pour out and dry out, add cosmetic pads, take to my at-home office because I have a diabetic cat who has to have his ear pricked four times a day (I alternate ears) and the warm pad is used to warm up his ear and the prick goes without a hitch and the blood dot is tiny. Since I use a rollator to move around these days, if I did not have the pads already warm and handy, I would waste a lot of time tracking him down. Now when he is hungry he comes to the office and I have everything at hand to take his blood sugar. This works perfectly to keep the pads warm.Customer Review: Great all-purpose personal thermos

My daughter wanted a thermos for hot drinks or more solid food (hearty soup, pasta) for school lunch. Most of the things we found were for liquids only, and many were too large, or long and skinny so you wouldn't be able to dip in a spoon or fork. We tried several that she didn't like. But this one was just right for my little Goldilocks. Although it can hold twice as much as she needs, it is compact for packing, has a wide mouth for big chunks, and a lid that serves as a cup or bowl. Most important, it keeps food really hot and never leaks. And when she's happy, I'm happy!
