As my kids were getting a little tired of having just cold sandwiches for lunch, I bought one for each of my two fifth graders to bring hot lunches to school. Works great for soups, leftover rice, and pasta. According to my kids, food is still steaming after sitting in their backpacks for 5hrs with or without preheating the jars with boiling hot water. Jar is more than big enough to fit a good size meal for them. Works great and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a food jar to keep foods hot.
