Sports reviews of Sports Sensors Glove RadarCustomer Review: Best I have found! Sport shop rating: 5 StarsHave you ever used a jugs gun? If so then you have to get a glove radar! This little product is a powerhouse radar that attaches to the back of a ball glove. It is an affordable training tool that anyone can use. My daughter's softball team used it for training to improve their throwing technique. The pitcher loved it, but all of the other players would take a turn using it as well. My daughter, who is a catcher, used it to quantify her improvement as she was practicing her throw to second base.
It is important for readers to realize that this is a true radar not one of those products that simply time the throw from a designated distance. We have one of those products which we trashed once we got the glove radar! The glove radar allows the ball to be thrown from any distance and its accuracy rivals that of an expensive jugs gun. It is truly a bargain.
Another awesome training tool also manufactured by Sports Sensors is the Kickspeed radar for soccer. Our coach has one and we just purchased our own. It is great to have a training aid which will actually quantify improvement while training!
Description of Sports Sensors Glove Radar Sports Sensors Glove Radar features: The Glove Radar is truly a microwave Doppler radar that attaches to the back of a ball glove Measures the speed of balls thrown from any distance a few feet before it is caught Radar "sees" through the ball glove, which is essentially transparent to the microwave energy Typically measures ball speed within plus or minus one mile per hour of popular "radar speed guns" Improve consistency and accuracy with less arm strain Sealed to protect the internal electronics from dust, dirt and moisture Operates with power from a single-cell three volt lithium battery Size: Triangular shape, 2 1/2" Wide; 3 1/2" Long; 1 3/16" Thick Speed range: 20-120 MPH Weight: 3 oz. 180 Day Limited Warranty A small Doppler radar velocity sensor which attaches to a baseball or softball glove, the Sports Sensors Glove Radar measures the speed of a ball just before it is caught. By learning the proper way to condition, train, warm-up, and throw, players can achieve their best accuracy and velocity performance, while reducing the risks of injury to their arm and body. It can aid any player--infielders and outfielders, as well as pitchers and catchers--throwing from any distance.
The Glove Radar attaches easily to the back of any glove. | Packaged in a rugged plastic housing assembly and sealed to protect the internal electronics from dust, dirt and moisture, the Glove Radar is worn by the receiver of the ball, or by multiple tossing partners in non-game situations. It then responds to the approaching ball just before it reaches the glove. Thus, unlike most radar speed guns, a long range capability is not required. Two screws hold the cover in place, which can be removed to replace the internal battery. A strong, weather-resistant nylon cord, facilitates attachment to virtually any ball glove. A rubber pad, molded onto the housing surface adjacent to the glove, absorbs impact shock forces from the ball being caught. The internal electronics are in "sleep" mode until activated by depressing the push-button On switch. Upon receipt of a velocity signal produced by a ball about to be caught in the glove, the ball speed is calculated and shown on the display in miles-per-hour. The Glove Radar goes into the sleep mode after an inactivity period of about a minute. It's backed by a 6-month limited warranty. Made in USA.
