Speedo's competiton-style nose clip is used by most synchronized swimmers. It is constructed of a rubber-coated stainless steel and has a low-profile fit for added comfort. About Speedo In 1914, Speedo was founded in Australia by Alexander MacRae, a 22-year-old Scottish immigrant who arrived in the country in 1910. The company began when MacRae Hosiery manufacturers, established by Alexander in 1914, extended the manufacture of underwear to swimwear and became MacRae Knitting Mills. A naming competition was held by the staff in 1928 and won by a Captain Parsonson, who coined the slogan, "Speed on in your Speedos." In 1929, the first swimsuits were in production and it didn?t take long for Speedo to successfully establish itself. World War II caused the brand turn over 90% of it?s manufacturing to war production, providing the armed services with vital equipment such as mosquito nets. After the war, Speedo opened a new factory and was able to re-establish itself, due to increased demand for swimsuits. In 1951, Speedo Knitting Mills (Holdings) Ltd, was incorporated and became a publicly traded company on the Sydney Stock exchange. Speedo hit the international stage in earnest, at the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games, and a few years later the brand grew on a more global scale. Export sales to the USA began and an international division was set up to monitor trade in New Zealand, Japan and South Africa. The expansion of the brand continued, and in 1976, Speedo was appointed as the official swimwear for the 1976 Montreal Olympics, where 52 out of 54 countries wore their swimsuits. Speedo continues to make its mark in the pool and on the beach today. Many world class athletes who wear Speedo include U.S. phenomenon Michael Phelps, legendary Australian swimmer Grant Hackett, world record holder Kosuke Kitajima from Japan, and Holland?s Inge de Bruijn.
Sports reviews of Speedo Competition Nose ClipCustomer Review: Ultimately this ended up being my choice. Sport shop rating: 4 Stars
I went through a lot of nose clips. Most just ended up slipping or sliding on my nose once they were wet. They all felt fine when the face was dry. I had given up on these as I had the same problem with these like the others. My instructor insisted I try these again. I did and had problems but eventually got it adjusted to the point that these are the ones that stayed on the best for me. They aren't the most comfortable of the ones I tried but they stay on my nose and gives me less to worry about as most of the others I tried felt like they were going to come off.
Customer Review: Speedo Competition Nose Clip Sport shop rating: 4 Stars
For the most part, I really like this nose clip. I'm just a casual swimmer and this works well at keeping the water out of my nose. I don't have much of a problem with it coming off and, when it does, it's usually a case of user error. I have a latex sensitivity but have not had any issues so far. Originally, I was looking for a nose clip with decent ratings that was latex free but could not find one. I have been resonably happy with this purchase.
Customer Review: Uncomfortable initially but does the job quite well Sport shop rating: 4 Stars
I'm fairly new to swimming and going under water for me is like hell since I almost always get water in my nose especially when I'm looking upwards. I decided to get this and while it was uncomfortable initially (I'd take it off after doing a lap) it does the job very well.
After using for a few weeks, I'm able to do many more laps before stopping for a rest so obviously I'm able to let it stay on for a lot longer.
Customer Review: Gets the job done Sport shop rating: 4 Stars
I bought these for the swimming classes I'm taking. They work alright, but every now and then I have to stop and adjust them. Since I've never used a nose clip before, I'm not sure if this is a problem with all of them
Overall, I like it very much. I would and I have recommended this particular nose clip to friend.
Customer Review: Good clip, but doesn't float. Sport shop rating: 4 Stars
I use the nose clip for swimming, and like it. It is easy to put on and take off, and easy to adjust. The one big improvement that could be made, would be for it to float. I'm sure if I used this when I was a kid playing in the pool or beach I would have lost it by now.
