I looked all over the house, and in the truck, for my previous flashlight. I couldn't find it. I hunt, and I need a red (or blue) LED flashlight for walking out in the meadow(s) or woods at night to where I want to be when the sun comes up. I don't want bright, white lights letting everything know where I am. I had really liked the quality of that flashlight. Choosing to finally replace it, I researched and researched on Cabela's and Amazon trying to find just the right flashlight for my needs. Finally, I found a flashlight that might compare to the one I lost. This flashlight, the S & W Galaxy 28, has an excellent belt holder that would be very hard pressed to let the light slip out (hook and loop). That's important, seeing the amount of things I have lost in the dark this season. The body is rugged. The black finish looks difficult to chip off. The red LEDs are excellent, and I expect they will be awesome for helping me keep my night vision as I walk through the woods and meadows. I have a small, white LED hat-clip light that I use to find a particular tree branch that is a landmark I use in the dark. The smaller white light doesn't have the power to always find it, and I have passed it up before. I am confident the Galaxy 28 will give more than enough white light to find that particular branch in the darkest of moonless nights. Anyway, I REALLY like my new flashlight and am planning on taking care that it doesn't get lost. As for my old flashlight, I found it the other night while cleaning out my computer case. The black case had blended in too well with the interior of the case when I had looked there earlier. As for the old flashlight, it is a Smith and Wesson too. It's probably the younger sibling to the Galaxy 28. I'm glad to have it back. I missed its performance. Nice job to S & W. I hope this review helps.
