I recieved this for Christmas. It replaced my D cell mag-light. The beam is sharp and bright. The red LED bulbs are excellent for night time trips through the house or use on the nightstand. It doesn't glare the eyes and it doesn't wake everyone. This is a well made sturdy light and one that I would recommend to anyone looking for a good flashlight. This is a great flashlight. Very sturdy, solid, and feels great in the hands. The brightness of the light is that of a high quality incandescent flashlight (that would be 3x the size) but whiter and more uniform. I love the carrying case and that it has a built in holder for an additional set of batteries. just got my light, I used it for a night flight in my Cessna, it is perfect for pre-flight and cockpit use, it is not a spotlight it is best used to illuminate things within 15 feet. the beam is almost a flood so it is not to bright if used up close like on a sectional chart the red leds are good and bright and help light up the panel well, Smith and Wesson has always made good productsCustomer Review: Excellent Small Flashlight

This is an excellent small flashlight! Feels very good in the hand (because of the apparently high manufacturing standards), and provides a high quality light that is adequate for most purposes. If you want a long-distance beam that blinds bad guys 50 yards away, this is not the light for you. This flashlight is great. It's light, relatively small, and there's one button to turn on white lights and another button to turn on the red lights. I always use it for camping and the red light button is pretty slick when I'm looking for something in my tent in the middle of the night but I don't want to blind myself with the white light. Great light! I'm a fan.
