Sports reviews of Smith & Wesson CK5TBS Bullseye Extreme Ops 4.1" 40% Serrated Black Tanto BladeCustomer Review: Nice knife for the price Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
This is a nice knife for the price. The thumb studs are well positioned for my med-large hands, and the knife opens easily enough. It isn't easy to flick open, but I don't want that function anyway.
The blade wasn't very sharp out of the box and becomes relatively dull fairly quickly, but it sharpens easily enough. I won't weigh in on americanized tanto points vs drop points, but I suspect the drop point version would save you some time in sharpening.
For the price it's hard to get a better knife.
Customer Review: great and very affordable Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
This came pretty sharp out of the box. A tad bit of sharpening won't hurt, but not all that necessary. For about $11 bucks, this is a very affordable knife. You get much more than your money's worth. The only thing that annoys me is that there is no thumb stud for an easy open but not a very big deal. The locking mechanism is quite sturdy. The serrations are great, but personally I don't have much use for them. If there was another version with a straight edge I would have bought that instead, but oh well I'll get over it.
Customer Review: Amazing knife! Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I originally bought this because I wanted a new knife, and I like the look of this blade. It has been amazing to me. I've just used it for around the house things but it has held its edge well. My only complaint is that my brother pushed the locking lever in the wrong direction and now I have to use two hands to fold it back up but that is not the knife's fault. I would like this exact same knife in maybe a 4" blade. It has a 3" right now and that feels a little small but for the price the quality is execellent!
Customer Review: Great knife! Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I just received this knife and was very impressed. I compared it to a $100. Benchmade knife I have that is a similar design. It appears it is nearly identical in feel, weight and construction. I am just so impressed. I am going to be looking at more Smith and Wesson knives for sure. You cannot beat the price! I have never bought a knife for less than $20., but when I saw the reviews I thought it was worth a shot. Have not been disappointed. Better buy one now before they realize the mistake they made!
Customer Review: RAZOR SHARP and a Great Value Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
This knife arrived with a razor sharp blade (it easily slices long slivers off a sheet of paper), has excellent mechanical function and is sturdy.
I would call this an excellent quality knife, but am aware of similar (looking) knives that sell for literally 40 times the price. Other than having a designer name and, possibly, being hand made, I'm not sure what allows them to demand such a premium.
This is such a great value that I am buying a few more to give as gifts.
