Customer Review: A batting machine that works
Sport shop rating: 4 Stars

Finally, a simple to use batting trainer tool. The trainer is very easy to assemble and disassemble as needed. My son has used the batting trainer in the driveway and the backyard using weights to hold the machine in place or supplied ground pegs.

The batting machine provides immediate feedback as to hitting mechanics. Better swings result in more dramatic revolution of the ball rod. A home plate is also included so one can work on inside and outside parts of the plate.

The instructions that came with the unit left a bit to be desired but it was fairly easy to assemble looking at a picture of the assembled unit on the box. The three tension bungee cords ensure that the unit does not get tangled up. In fact it has never gotten tangeled--I certainly could not say that for the hit-a-way that I used to string up to a pole.

The weight of the unit is both a plus and a minus. A plus in that it is a very sturdy unit that does not move if properly secured even after repeated (50-75+) swings. It is a bit of a negative in terms of portability. That is why we use it in the driveway and backyard. I was thinking of bringing it out to my team's little league practice but wouldn't do so unless I had an SUV.

Overall I am convinced that this is the best batting training machine, for the price, on the market today. I would definitely recommend it to others.

Customer Review: Good product, but not very practical
Sport shop rating: 4 Stars

This is an excellent tool to use to work on your hitting. The only problem is that it is heavy to lug around, and it is difficult to keep still. If you follow the instructions as stated in the manual, I'm sure you'll be fine in regards to setting it up for use, but I don't have heavy sandbags, or whatever it is that keeps this thing still while using it. The other option is to bolt it to the ground which is probably the best option, but you'd need to cover it up when not using it and hope nobody robs it.

It is a great tool for working on contact and follow-through. The ball at the end of the arm is small, which makes trying to make contact with it an excellent exercise. If you can hit that little white ball at the end, you'll be able to crush a baseball in no time. It's made of good quality materials as well.

However, unless you have a big and private backyard, I don't recommend this product. Lugging it back and forth is a hassle. A batting tee is probably an easier option.

Customer Review: Very cool
Sport shop rating: 4 Stars

My 13 year old daughter has been using this now for several months. It is a pretty neat product.

PRO's:
- Easy for the kids to use when they want to do practice swinging.
- Easy to assemble and unassemble.. plus carrying bag is included

CON's:
- Very heavy to carry around.
- For winter indoor practice, there is no way to lock it into place.

There are rubber footies on it, but they don't stop the unit from sliding on the floor very much. We've used it on a indoor basketball court and a carpeted basketball court and it slides a little on both. Granted, this is a 13 year old kid using it and hitting it pretty hard.

All in all, cool product and I recommend it.

Customer Review: Great practice aid
Sport shop rating: 4 Stars

We bought this item as a Christmas gift for our daughters. Shipping was free and the unit arrived quickly. Set up was a breeze. The machine is well designed and went together without any tools needed. Our daughters use it in the basement. It tends to move a bit from their hitting so a bag of sand on each of two legs took care of that issue. The girls like it and use it regularly. One recommendation would be to offer an instructional batting video to go along with the machine. We highly recommend this batting machine for its price and ease of assembly. It is too soon to talk about durability, but this machine looks as if it will be able to stand up to hours of use it is now getting.

Customer Review: Seems to be good
Sport shop rating: 4 Stars

I bought this for my 8 and 9 year old boys. Had it for three weeks and have used it twice. It really is a good tool to see the kids swings and correct mechanics. The moving target aspect of this is great. Though it takes a little practice to hit the stick on the "way back." The kids really like it and it's fun for me too. Directions are excellent. The unit is heavier than I expected but guess that's what makes it so stable. Directions say to put weights on the legs or stake them down. We don't need to do that for us. Then again, we're only using 1 power band.
