I purchased this sword along with a sword workout video as a Christmas gift for my daughter and I must say it's a really nice sword for the money. Based on how inexpensive it is it's a much better quality than what I expected. It's also *much* heavier than I thought it would be...should make for a good workout. The dragon motif looks hand carved and it's very well done. The carving is a nice touch compared to other practice swords and was ultimately the deciding factor in which sword I chose since they all seemed to be about the same otherwise. Since it's a gift, I haven't actually used the sword but based on quality/appearance I'm very happy with the purchase and I think my daughter will be too.
Description of Single 40" Dragon Datio Bokken Kendo Practice Sword
The bokken is constructed of oak with a shiny black lacquer finish. The handle of the boken is wrapped with a black cotton cord, just as a katana would be. The boken has been constructed with a high detail to replicate the look and feel of a katana, with a kissak at the end of the tip and a pentagonal spine and blade.Practice Swords
