I bought many of the sigg bottles in order to begin filtering my tap water and drinking it rather than buying water in plastic bottles. Plastic bottles are not healthy and are disposed of and found in our oceans..etc.
I will never ever use anything else. The alien can is so cute. It even glows in the dark!!! I am now back to buy another new can. SIGG Rocks! It is the best quality and the best looking.

I did not buy the Sigg for water really. I put diet iced tea or diet Coke in it to take to work daily. I have had no leakage issues and the beverages remain cold till lunch time. This is a great bottle. It keeps cold drinks cooler longer than other alternatives to plastic bottles. It has a cute design. It is the right size for carrying all over the place.
The only problem is the "active" top. It's really hard to use. You have to push down on it and twist to open it. Then you have to push down on it the entire time you are drinking from it either with your fingers or with your mouth. Either way, you have to suck a little bit to get the water to come out. No matter how hard you suck, the water doesn't come out fast enough and it feels like you're sucking on a baby bottle or a sippy cup. Probably fine for kids, but not for me. I would suggest adults who can drink from a bottle without spilling it all over themselves get the top that just unscrews because I end up just unscrewing the whole top when I want to take a drink anyway.
The bottles can get dented if they are dropped on a hard surface or banged up against something but I read that this doesn't affect the proprietary SIGG lining that protects your beverage from coming into contact with the aluminium, so it's just a cosmetic defect and doesn't really bother me.
Cleaning the bottle is easy with regular soapy water and a soft brush designed for reaching into the bottom of glasses. Just don't use a hard-bristled brush because it can damage the lining.
