Customer Review: Why didn't I have such a trike when I was little ...?

Sometimes you wish to be young again - really young, like two years old. We gave this trike as a birthday gift to my two year old son - the day was effectively over at that time, no interest in any cake, nor in all the other gifts (we told the grandparents a different story ...), nor in anything else. He absolutely loves it! He has not quite found out how to operate the pedals, so he moves it Flintstone-style, with his feet on the ground. Works like a charm. Good thing, that the seat is adjustable to five different distances from the pedals - we have it in the second notch now, which is perfect for him to reach the pedals.
And his big sister (4 years old) actually loves to hitch a ride on the little step behind the seat - it is hilarious!
The design is quite sound, I especially love the wide wheelbase, that prevents the trike from toppling over during normal operation (... well, sometimes it is operated rather un-normal ...). There are no sharp edges or pointy points sticking out, and assembly is a done in fifteen minutes.
The overall quality is amazing - metal instead of plastic, I love it!
Also, this was probably not intended to serve as such, but the seat has a small hole in the backside, where you can effectively grab the trike, or fix a rope to it, to prevent your little speedster from going away too far - which our young man will absolutely try, once he finds out what the pedals are for ...
All in all, this is worth every cent - and makes me wish to be two again ... sometimes.

This trike totally rocks. Our daughter is 3 and we have 3 trikes. One is a radio flyer folding trike. It was not a great success. Tips very easily and is very slow when she is riding it. It is also now too small. We also have a fisher price rock, roll and ride trike. That one is very good, but we have used it so much the wheel slips when she is peddling and it is all plastic, so you have to be careful going up driveways that are uneven to the road etc etc. After reading the reviews for the schwinn trike I just knew we had to try it. We were going to get her a two wheel bike with training wheels, but they are so heavy and we have a 7 month old baby and we go for hour long walks where she rides. I can put this trike on top of my chariot stroller if she wants to sit. She can fly on this trike, even though it is a bit heavy, but all kids bikes are heavy. Adults comment on how cool it is. All in all this is a great purchase. Just as a note though, she wears a a size 5 in clothes and the seat is the furthest back that it can be. It will be too small next year for sure. So, if your kid is tall, make sure to buy it when they are 2, not 3. Luckily our son will get some good use from it in a year or two!!!Customer Review: fantastic little trike

I purchased this trike for a four-year-old's birthday gift. I hesitated as many other reviews said this was for a younger child, but it got such raves that I took the plunge and made the purchase. I'm so glad I did!
The look on this kid's face when he unwrapped the box was priceless - such pure joy. He's been riding it endlessly.
We live on a ranch with rough dirt roads, so many of the other "Big Wheel" type bikes we looked at were inadequate for our ranch roads, and a 2-wheeled bike with training wheels was too unsteady on the rough roads. The Schwinn Roadster rides beautifully on dirt roads.
Reasons we love it:
- It sits low to the ground so won't tip over like conventional tricycles.
- The seat has a back on it to keep child from sliding backwards.
- Real bicycle tires make for a smoother ride and grip the road.
- Chrome fenders, bright paint, streamers on handles and wooden running board make the bike look so cool!
If your child is too young for a 2-wheeled bike, the Schwinn Roadster is definitely worth consideration.
I highly recommend this bike.

This is a great tricycle. I was looking for a tricycle for my son that was attractive and durable. the retro styling and sleek look of this one grabbed my attention immediately. the red color with the chrome accents and tassels just oozes classic style. My kids love this tricycle. the tires are inflatable unlike the flimsy plastic ones that are seen on many tricycles. another thing i was impressed with was the durability. it can take anything that a three year old can throw at it. the bucket seat provides great comfort and support for my son as he rides it. the rear wheels are set wide to reduce the risk of tipping over. the only thing that i can find as a flaw in this product is that there is a bolt that connects the rear wheel to the tricycle. this bolt sticks out further than the rubber wheel. consequently, when the side of the rear tire rubs against something, the bolt scrapes the surface. i have a few gashes on my sheetrock walls due to this flaw. overall, i am very happy with this product and my children love it.Customer Review: Grandson's Birthday Present

Schwinn Roadster Kid"s Trike
Not ordering online very often I was very happy with the ease and speed of receiving the product. I did have a problem with the item and didn't know how to go about solving it so I'm taking this opportunity.
My husband put the trike together and it was awesome! We gave the gift to our Grandson the next day and within 30 minutes the front tire was flat. It never made it outside so it was only ridden on carpet and tile. To this day it still hasn't made it outside - he won't part with it. We have repaired the tire twice in two different spots and it continues to go flat. My husband did make a comment on how old the tires seemed to look but that just wasn't even in our minds that they could be old or defective. The size of the tire is 12.5 x 2 1/4. We need to buy a new one and if you could help us out that would be great.
Other than that the product was a smash. Just ask Chase!
