Sports reviews of Schwinn Free Wheeler Jogging StrollerCustomer Review: My baby likes it! What can be more important? Sport shop rating: 4 Stars
Hello, everyone!
When my son was 5.5 I started to shop for jogging stroller. My main wish was a jogger for both running and walking - so I considered swivel option will work better for me. After making 2 day research I marked 3 models: Schwinn Free Wheeler, BOB Revolution and Baby Jogger City Classic.
I've always thought the most expensive means the best but after reading people reviews I had to change my mind. In BOB most people complained about seat. When it is in the upright position it becomes too slouchy and uncomfortable for a kid, so that he or she doesn't want to sit there. In Baby Jogger latest reviews stated that jogger came with a manufacturing defect. When you lock the front wheel for running it goes left or right instead of forward. So now explain me why should I pay $400, and get all these problems?
Schwinn is not ideal too... There are few things I don't like about it:
1) doesn't have hand stop, only parking
2) The locker on front wheel to make it swivel or stationary is cheaply made (think they could make it better)
3) Safety belts' fabric is too rough compared to BOB
4) As many people wrote in folded position jogger can't be locked, so it's pretty tricky to put it into your car. I still didn't have a chance to try it. It stands in my garage.
5) Under seat storage is not made for putting heavy things in it (just in case if u plan to put big diaper bags there)
But all these cons seem minor to me and think I can live with them
Now good news:
1) Schwinn offers all the basics like parent console, child's tray, weather shield, bottom basket in one price. You buy a jogger and get it all included. Which can't be said about BOB or BJ where you have to buy all these accessories separately for pretty high prices.
2) Adjustable handle. By the way my personal advice is to put it in the lower position during running, to keep all strain away. Cuz first time I put it too high and then my wrists ached.
3) Sun visor is really big, and what I most like is that it fully closes the baby from wind. Remember when you run wind blows much stronger. First time I didn't pay much attention to that and my little one had runny nose. And again I'm so pleased that we have weather shield, which is connected with sun visor, and is kept inside it, as I live in Florida and rains start so unexpectedly here. With my previous stroller I was so scared to get into the rain, now I don't.
4) Schwinn jogger is so light, and easy to push.
5) Wheels are huge and have good suspension, so I don't care now if there are some bumps or terrain on my way. What is more: my baby sleeps in it every time I run which I think means that he likes it.
6) Seat is padded enough, and mesh lining provides good ventilation, besides I can see what my son is doing through it.
7) It fits our Honda Civic w/o taking the wheels off!!!
So taking into account all pros and cons I give it 4 stars, even 4.5. And if somebody would ask me if I can recommend it to a friend I'd definitely say: Yes!

In searching for a jogger, I had limited to 2 choices, the Joovy Zoom 360 and this Schwinn Free Wheeler. Really, I wished for a Bob, but a couple of things ruled this choice out: the price tag and the non-adjustable handlebar. When you're running long distances the height of the handlebar makes a big difference, and in the case of the Bob and Joovy, they both weren't adjustable. The Joovy wasn't completely out of the picture because it the reasonable price tag and the quality.
Now on with the Schwinn Free Wheeler. I was hesitant at first from the negative reviews about the wobbling front wheel. Sure enough out of the box and after installing it, the front wheel in swivel mode, was wobbling like crazy; and that was just from walking with it. So, I was very unhappy and right away thought about returning it. Then after thinking about the hassle of returning it, I decided to see what I could do to fix it.
The problem was easily fixable. There is a bolt that attaches the front wheel to the stroller. All that was needed was tightening of the bolt until the wheel isn't wiggling back and forth. Once this was done, I fell in love with it. I took my son out for a test drive and he was sleeping after the first mile.
I think extra padding will be necessary when he gets taller as there is a metal bar at the top of the headrest. This probably won't be comfortable for anyone when the stroller hits a bump and your head bouncing on it. Also, I agree with other reviews that mentioned the incline could come up higher.
That said the stroller glides really smoothly, and I felt that it was effortless to push and navigate during my 5 mile test run with my 6 month old son. For the price and perks, you can't beat this stroller.

I got this stroller for running at the park with my baby ( He will be 1 y/old this month ) and I like it a lot- I read many reviews for many diff. strollers and I decided to go for this one. I didnt want to spend much money because I will use it only to run or go to the park...
I don't run a lot but I like to go two or three times a week and run for a good 30 minutes...I have been using the stroller with the wheels on swivel and it works great! It doesn't shake but make sure you look at the pictures and the instruction when placing the front wheel because if you put it on the wrong side will shake and you will hate it. That happened to me the first time.
The stroller is very, very light and makes running very easy. My son likes it and I can see that he is very comfortable in it.
It takes a good space in the back of my jeep once folded- and it doesn't lock but I got used to it...is a jogging stroller and for what I see all of them take a good space becasue of the big wheels.
The parents tray/cup holder is not the greatest but I just place my water in the basket and the tray holds my keys and my iphone very well while I run.
The thing that I like the most is that is a tall stroller - I am 5 7 and my husband 6 feet and we can adjust it easily.
If you decide to get it...Enjoy it !!!
Customer Review: Tall man likes this stroller Sport shop rating: 4 Stars
First off, i was against the swivel cuz i didn't like to have moving parts up front that could break off and for me, it's not a big deal to turn the stroller by lifting the front wheel like you have to. So, we got the Schwinn fixed wheel jogger and love the color, quality and comfort for the little guy but after my wife's first 2 mile walk with it, the steering was hard for her. She'll run with it but we do more walking than running so we returned it and got the swivel. So far, i'm happy with it - the swivel seems durable and simple so it should not break off. I really like the swivel now - very easy to cruise around with. Also, for tall people out there, I'm 6'8" and the handle is adjustable so i'm not bending over to push - quite comfortable for me. My wife is 5'8" and it is a good adjustment for her. The padding & harness is comfortable for our kid too. no wobble in the front tire either which is good!
A few cons: it didn't come with the weather shield as it shows in the picture. the foot brake is nice where it needs just one foot to press on the bar across but it unfortunately sitcks out a little and my big feet sometimes will hit it when i'm walking. i can live with that.
Customer Review: Almost perfect for occasional jogging Sport shop rating: 4 Stars
Easy review, not long winded:
Like:
Front wheel swivel or locked. I never lock even when I jog which is 4 times a week for 3-4 miles.
Rolls easily over all terrain encountered so far, east coast crappy sidewalks, beach, dirt, grass
Adjustable handle
Rolls super easy and is not heavy
Due to super easy rolling the brake is essential and works quite easily
When folded I can fit it into my Subaru hatchback pretty easily
Light so I can lift it eaily into my hatchback
Slight cons:
Front wheel has become a little difficuly after two beach uses. Won't turn to left as easily
Canopy adjusts but had to tinker with the screws to keep it in place. Velcro loop meant to help fasten canopy in upright position is worthless. Needs longer velcro. Snaps meant to hold canopy in upright position are a pain in the butt when you are jogging so I am going to try adding my own extra piece of velcro for quick easy adjustments.
Adult's drink holder is OK for low profile items like ipods, cell phones, etc but will not hold your water bottle when you go over a bump.
Overall very happy and so is baby.
