Sports reviews of Schwinn 130 Upright Exercise BikeCustomer Review: Great bike, great price Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I purchased this bike last October and used it 3-5 days a week all winter as part of my conditioning for the summer bike riding season; I also use it on rainy days when I can't get out on the road. Although I was concerned by comments about the condition of the packaging, mine arrived in great condition. All of the part were included. I assembled it in around an hour (I'm female, 5'4").
The bike is exceptionally smooth and quiet. I really love the small footprint. It is also very sturdy. No problems there. I've used both the manual and the preprogrammed workout modes, and have received an exceptional workout regardless of which mode I use.
The only problem that I have had is that the seat slips sometimes. It's fairly easy to adjust, and I consider this to be a minor nuisance.
I'm not sure about the accuracy of the heartrate monitor. At times there seems to be some variability and slowness to register. I did recently purchase a Polar heartrate monitor since I want to be able to track my heartrate across a variety of activities. I'll have a better point of comparison then.
However, for the price, you can't beat this bike. I've been using it for 8 months now, and it has performed extremely well. It was fun to get out on the bike paths again for the first time with a friend who had not been spending much time conditioning during the winter months. She huffed and puffed her way through a five mile ride. I was ready for another go at it thanks the the winter conditioning routine that I had put in using this bike.
Highly recommended!

About Exercise Bikes Despite the competition from trendy new fitness inventions, exercise bikes continue to be popular options for home exercise. They offer the same aerobic benefits of riding a bicycle at any time, in any weather, without leaving the comfort and safety of home. Exercise bikes don't take up much space, require little or no balance or coordination, and can provide an effective workout for all levels of users, from beginners to serious competitors. While the same could be said for a number of other types of home fitness equipment, the exercise bike is one of the few that allows you to watch television or read a magazine while you work out. For many people, having convenient access to quality exercise equipment is critical to sticking with a long-term exercise program.
