Sports reviews of SPRI ES502R Xertube Resistance Band with Door Attachment and Exercise Charts (Blue, Heavy)Customer Review: A good additional tool, but it's no dumbbell Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
These bands are great additional tools for home gyms or even commercial gyms. I loop them over the pull up bar to use them as cable machine type of workout. But it doesn't have the constant resistance like the dumbbells or weights have. Use biceps curl as an example, when you pick up a 40lbs dumbbell from the rack. It gives you that 40 lbs resistance at the moment it lift off the rack, and continues to do so in any position of the exercise. VS these resistance bands have virtually no resistance at the starting position of biceps curl exercise. Its resistance increases as you raise the forearm and decreases as you lower the forearm back to the starting position. You don't get the constant resistance as the weights give you. So if you're serious about body building, then weights/dumbbells are a must and probably are more effective than these bands.
Lastly, yes they are not heavy. I use 30-35 lbs dumbbell (in each hand) for biceps curl, it takes two purple bands to get close to that resistance; but not a constant resistance. So I'm going back to dumbbells for most of weight lifting workouts.

I bought the medium SPRI Xertube Resistance Band last year about this time. I used it a few times a week, on average. I swim and belong to a gym, but this is a nice way to get some resistance training in on those days I couldn't get to the gym. I love how portable it is. I tossed it in my work bag, and during downtimes, I could get in a few sets of strength training in only a few minutes. It must have worked, because I noticed that in order to get more resistance, I was stepping closer and closer to the handles, so I bought the heavy one. I was a bit nervous that it would be too hard, but while noticeably more difficult than the red one, it wasn't too hard.
I did feel good when a couple of co-workers tried it out and could barely do a few curls with it. Haha. That let me know that I am getting stronger. I gave the red one to my to my dad who had quadruple bypass late last year. He's been working with light weights in rehab to get back in shape.
The quality of the materials is excellent. A friend has one she got at a local sporting goods store. It felt much flimsier.
Customer Review: EXCELLENT! Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
When I don't want to workout for a full hour i use these for a 20 minute workout. this is an excellent piece of exercise equipment. you can really get a good workout just alone with these for 20 minutes. gives you plenty of choices of workouts to choose from or create your own. the resistance is just right for me. after i've been with these for a while then i will advance to the ultra heavy. i just love these bands. great replacement instead of using my dumbells because you get to do more with these, and the exercise charts are great too. would highly recommend these blue bands!

I travel A LOT for work and it sometimes throws me off my workout and fitness routine. Got some of these at the last minute at at airport gift shop and was amazed at the things I could do with them. I have tried a few things over the last couple of years, as my travel schedule has increased, and these resistance bands are some of my most used and most effective equipment. You can do literally dozens of exercises, for both upper and lower body, they're cheap, and they're easy to take with you.
If you're somebody like me who travels a lot, these are perfect.
Customer Review: Great Value! Great Results! Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I have bought bands before, but at this price this set of bands is definitely the best value I have seen. When I ordered them (to replace my old ones that a dog chewed up), I was expecting a waste of ten dollars. I basically got an exact replacement (except for maybe the resistance level, since they vary) for my old ones.
If you have a tape to do these with, the bands are even more effective than the free weights because it gets harder as you finish each rep (as the band stretches).
Enjoy, and see the results in no time!
