The concave deck provides increased foot control so you can learn to shift your weight and steer. Customer Review: a very addictive board

It took me probably around an hour of practice by myself to start riding smoothly. Once you start riding on smooth ground, it's really addictive since you don't need to paddle with your foot. I'm not sure if it was the way I increase speed, the ankle gets more pressure when I accelerate. Overall, this is a very fun board to ride, but I haven't had a chance to try other ripsticks to compare.
