Sports reviews of RipStik Caster Board (Blue)Customer Review: Awesome Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I got this for my 10 year old. He picked it up quickly and loves it!
Customer Review: Won't Replace the Skateboard, but Great Fun! Sport shop rating: 4 Stars
We got this for my son for Christmas, and as he said, it was his favorite gift this year. It take a little work to get going, but once you figure it out its great fun.
Overall product seems well built: heavy duty casters, heavy plastic deck, and quality wheels and bearings.
The board is heavy, but with a max supported weight of 220 lbs it is certainly sturdy.
In terms of durability, I can't speak for the long term, but it has held up well to everyone in the neighborhood (adults included) riding it for several hours a day over the last couple weeks.
Riding the RipStik is more like snowboarding than skateboarding, and you quickly learn that stepping off to kick, is not a good idea. The board comes with an "How To" video and I recommend you watch it, as it provides a good introduction to riding it and teaches you how to turn and generate speed.
Overall I would have to agree with my son, it's My favorite gift that he got this year as well.
Customer Review: Great -- but be careful ! Sport shop rating: 4 Stars
Ripstik Caster Board My 11 year old son LOVES his Ripstik. It keeps him outside for hours. BE CAREFUL though -- we know an 11 year old who needed stitches in his chin, and another who broke his arm, both from going down hills and losing control. Start out with a flat area -- it will still be fun and exciting. Not all kids can get the hang of it, and even very athletic boys we know get frustrated. I suggest you have your child try someone else's first. That worked well for us, although my son tried the WAVE board first, which is really the same thing. I loved ordering it through Amazon, because the price was competitive and they delivered it to my door.

This toy was bought for my husband for Christmas because he kept seeing all the neighborhood teens riding around on them and he wanted to try it. He almost fell and broke a leg the first time he got on it. He still needs more practice on it (its been almost 2 months now) and hes had a little improvement. I dont think this thing is good for anyone under the age of about 13. It is not easy to learn but I have been told that once you figure it out (after many tries) that this product can be very fun to ride and is much better than a traditional skate board.
Customer Review: great toy Sport shop rating: 4 Stars
The kids love this thing and will spend hours on end on it. It takes a little bit of time to master, but after a few hours they were off and running. Even around the neighborhood, they'll ride this before a skateboard because they don't have to push. The only negative I have about it is the wheels wear down quickly. We've had it for two weeks and we need to replace the back wheel.
