I bought this mask to wear in my car because I spend about 4 hours per day in dense, slow-moving traffic on a busy interstate. After several months of this commute I have been experiencing some respiratory issues, such as raspy throat and voice and feeling like I can't fill my lungs with enough air. This mask have been a good help for those symptoms so far. As others have mentioned, it takes some time to find a comfortable position with a good seal. Once I figured that out, it has completely eliminated the disgusting odors of industrial pollution and diesel exhaust which I had previously smelled every day. I don't have any hard data or metrics to describe the filtering capacity, but would have to say that it seems to be quite good based on the subjective experience of smelling zero pollution or chemicals on a drive which is normally thick with them. I also notice that I'm sneezing a lot less since using this.
Overall it is excellent in my experience. My only complaint would be the initial difficulty in adjusting it to form a seal, but once/if this has been accomplished it works surprisingly well. I have only used it while sitting in a car, for which it is extremely effective, but cannot comment on its effectiveness while riding a bicycle as I have not tried that yet.
