Description of Reebok Heart Touch Strapless Heart Rate Monitor Watch

The Reebok Heartouch uses our patented strapless technology that allows the user to get accurate heart rate without having to wear the chest belt. This unit has a extra large display for easy viewing. We designed this unit to be easy and simple to use.
Improve your daily and weekly workout routine with the Reebok strapless heart rate monitor watch. Outfitted with several handy features, the watch is ideal for runners who don't want to deal with a cumbersome chest strap while working out. The watch delivers several accurate heart rate readings, including maximum, average, and minimum heart rates. As a result, it's easy to determine whether you're running at a steady pace or you need to pick up the intensity a bit. The watch also offers a 100-hour chronograph with 50 memory slots, so you can recall your average heart rate and split time for your last several workouts. And thanks to the four training zone sessions--each with an optional visual and double alarm--it's easy to design an effective workout regimen.

Other details include a scrolling dot matrix display with Reflec-trix technology; a quick-start mode that gets you going after entering your age and heart rate; a Softex transmitter belt with a user-replaceable battery; water-resistance to 30 meters; and all the standard watch functions, including 12- and 24-hour time modes showing hours, minutes, and seconds.

About Reebok
Reebok's United Kingdom-based ancestor company was founded for one of the best reasons possible: athletes wanted to run faster. So, in the 1890s, Joseph William Foster made some of the first known running shoes with spikes in them. By 1895, he was in business making shoes by hand for top runners; and before long his fledgling company, J.W. Foster and Sons, developed an international clientele of distinguished athletes. In 1958, two of the founder's grandsons started a companion company that came to be known as Reebok, named for an African gazelle.

Sports reviews of Reebok Heart Touch Strapless Heart Rate Monitor Watch

Customer Review: Works great for quick heart-rate check.
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

I use it when swimming laps. At end of a set, I grab the monitor-watch
from poolside, lay it on my wrist, and take a quick reading. The monitor
doesn't even have to be strapped on!

Customer Review: The best
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

This is the best every watch. No chest or waist strap. Easy to use and very accurate. I use it every day.

Customer Review: Good value, great gift
Sport shop rating: 4 Stars

I gave this to my friend for Christmas, and he likes it a lot. He really wanted a strapless solution for a heart rate monitor. My only gripe is that it is cumbersome to monitor your heart rate with this watch while being active. You must keep 2 fingers on the watch to obtain a reading. Not helpful when you are cycling or running. Although, the watch was helpful in ranking the pictures of Sports Illustrated's "In the Paint" book.

Customer Review: Great value for the price
Sport shop rating: 4 Stars

This works great! The only thing is that you have to press the silver button below to get a reading. But for 40 bucks, it's worth it if you're looking for a cheap heart monitor watch that does the job.

Customer Review: Not bad for the price and strapless.

For $30 and no strap this is a decent device. My resting HR is 68, here are consecutive readings: 68, 63, 68, 68, 64, 68, 69, 70, 75, 66, 68, 63, 68, 65. It does not give a constant "live" reading from your wrist. HR measurement comes from placing your thumb and index finger on two metal pads on the front of the watch for 3-8 seconds. Finger location on the pads definitely affects the readings, so you may need to do some trial and error to get accurate readings. Long story short, if you want a simple HR reader this unit is fine, if you want something that is very accurate and takes live readings, get different one.
