Description of Reebok Fitwatch 10S Strapless Heart Rate Monitor Watch (Blue)

This Reebok strapless heart rate monitor is one of the smallest on the market and allows the user to get accurate heart rate without having to use a chest belt.
Specifically made for women, with its lightweight and slender design, this all-in-one heart rate monitor and sports watch by Reebok uses a patented method called "pulse technology" to measure the electrical pulses sent out by your heart each time it beats. Of course, the amazing part is that it works by finger touch rather than the cumbersome chest strap used by most other heart monitors. Within four seconds of touching the sensors on the watch, you can get not only an accurate heart rate reading, but also the number of calories burned during your workout.

The monitor has a programmable heart rate zone with audible and visual alarms to alert you when you get out of zone, plus a settable alarm if you have a maximum rate you should not exceed. Made from durable plastic and fully water-resistant, the device also features regular watch functions, plus a 100-hour stopwatch and countdown timer. It comes with a complete walking and exercise guide and one-year warranty.

About Reebok
Reebok's United Kingdom-based ancestor company was founded for one of the best reasons possible: athletes wanted to run faster. So, in the 1890s, Joseph William Foster made some of the first known running shoes with spikes in them. By 1895, he was in business making shoes by hand for top runners; and before long his fledgling company, J.W. Foster and Sons, developed an international clientele of distinguished athletes. In 1958, two of the founder's grandsons started a companion company that came to be known as Reebok, named for an African gazelle.

Customer Review: Good Product with one drawback.
Sport shop rating: 4 Stars

I recently purchased this product and was dissapointed that it doesn't continuously take your heart rate. You have to push down on the two silver buttons above and below the screen with your index and middle fingers to get a heart rate reading. If I would have done my research beforehand I wouldn't have been surprised at this, I know.

Anyway, now that I have it I am pretty pleased with the product.

The pros of this product are as follows;

I really like not having to wear a chest strap transmitter.

I like that it is slightly "girlier" looking; I have the blue model, and I like it better than my very basic, big clunky Polar model.

I like the calorie counter.

It is as accurate as my Polar model with the chest strap; I used both watches during my last workout on my elliptical machine, and everytime I took my heart rate with this watch it was usually within 2 BPM of my Polar Watch. At the most, a few times the difference between the watches was 4 BPM.

The only drawback to this product in my opinion as I've mentioned before is the fact that it does not automatically and continuously take your heart rate. Once I get used to that I think I'll really enjoy this watch.

Customer Review: Does the job, but a little bulky
Sport shop rating: 4 Stars

I just got this watch today. The heart rate monitor is definitely accurate. I tested it compared to timing my pulse with a stopwatch. While you do need to hold down the two buttons to take your heart rate, it only takes a few seconds, so it's not a big deal. It would be nice if it continuously monitored your heart rate, but I would still take this over having to wear a chest strap. One thing I wasn't thrilled with was how bulky the watch is. I was under the impression that it was a small watch that looks more like a normal digital watch, but it's a lot bigger than I thought (see the photos I posted). I do have a very small wrist, so it might not look so big on everyone though. So bottom line...it seems to serve the purpose and it's relatively inexpensive for a heart rate monitor, but if you're expecting this watch to look like a regular digital watch, you should know that it is on the bulky side. That being said, I think that's the case for all heart rate monitor watches -- at least all of the ones I read reviews for before buying this one.

I purchased this watch/heart rate monitor about a month ago and have since used it pretty often. It is a pretty neat gadget since it combines a watch, a calorie counter, a heart rate monitor, and a chronometer. It also has a light, which makes it nice. I bought it mainly for the heart rate monitor feature and am pretty happy with it overall. It reads heart rate fairly accurately; my only complaint is that you can not be moving very fast in order to get an accruate reading. If you are running at a moderate/fast pace on a treadmill it has a hard time picking up a signal and sometimes it displays nothing, sometimes the reading is unreasonably low (i.e. 65bpm when I know I have to be in the 150s or 160s). But if you slow down to a walk where you have better control over how you position your fingers over the sensors, you are most likely to get an accurate reading.

Overall I'm happy with it and will use it for a long time.

Customer Review: I loved this watch at first...
Sport shop rating: 4 Stars

I bought this watch when I decided to start getting in shape. I was looking for something that would tell me when I'm in my target heart rate zone and how many calories I've burned. This watch does that. It's cute and I actually wear it all the time. I didn't need something that was taking my heart rate continuously and I didn't want to wear a chest strap. Unfortunately my needs in a watch have changed. I have started to train for a marathon and this watch isn't very helpful. Since you have to press the buttons to get your heart rate it's almost impossible to get your heart rate while you're running. Since I can't get my heart rate I'm not getting an accurate calorie count. It's getting very frustrating. I'll keep using the watch for an everyday watch, but I'm going to have to go with something a little more high tech. I will say the count down timer is great for my kids when they're in time out! ;)

Customer Review: Awesome alternative to body bug
Sport shop rating: 4 Stars

This watch is easy to program if you read the directions carefully. The heart rate monitor feature has really helped me in my weight loss efforts. I am able to modify my workouts in order to stay in my target heart rate zone. The only thing that is a bit difficult is remembering to take my heart rate as it changes before, during, and after workouts in order to get an accurate count on calories burned. The watch also only counts calories burned for a 15 hour period, but that is ok for me because I can get a good idea of the calories I burn during waking hours only. I love this watch and it is an excellent alternative to the body bug which I was not willing to spend over 200 dollars on. I found an awesome free website where I can enter the foods I have eaten and it totals my calories. So using the watch and the [...] website works just as well as the body bug without the expense.
