Sports reviews of Razor E300 Electric Scooter (Blue)

    Customer Review: disappointed
    Sport shop rating: 2 Stars

Overall I am disappointed with the performance of the E300. My son is 11 and weighs 95 lbs. The E300 works well as long as he does not go up any sort of incline. Unfortunately our neighborhood is full of rolling hills. The E300 almost immediately slows down to a crawl and then the circuit breaker pops. My son's friend has an E200 which seems to handle the hills much better with less power. Go figure. As far as construction, it appears to be well made. The E300 is heavy and the handle bars do not fold inward for easy carrying. If you never plan to carry it anywhere, then this is not a bid deal but folding handle bars that lock for carrying are a standard feature on most other scooters in this price range. The charger works faster than the published 8 hr charge time. Note: Razor does not publish motor power in any of the discriptions. I made a bad assumption that the E300 had a 300 watt motor. It is only a 250 watt motor. If you live in a completely flat area and you can get this on sale(less than $180.00 and free shipping) then go ahead and buy this. If you have any kind of hills then you need to spend more and get something with more than 300 watts of power. One good thing, I received it in less than a week with free shipping.

Customer Review: Razor products don't last long enough
    Sport shop rating: 2 Stars

The e300 is actually a 1 star product, but I gave it two stars only because when it works, my son loves it. We have had the scooter for 3 years. It worked without problems for the first 3 months. After that, the charger went out. Then the battery went out. Then the brake lever broke. After that, the chain broke. We live in rainy seattle where my son can only use his scooter for 3 months a year, so for the first 2 years, the scooter needed something replaced after every 2 or 3 rides. At the beginning of summer #3, the scooter's brake assembly broke. Razor does not sell a replacement part for this, so the scooter has sat in our garage for the last year unridden with no brakes.

We also have an e100 that was purchased at the same time. We have never been able to get the chain to stay on for more than 2 rides, and it has also needed several repairs and replacement parts.

and finally, we also own a Razor Ground force electric go-kart. It has also required 4 replacement parts in 2 years.

I have learned my lesson and will no longer be purchasing Razor products. Shame because they are so much fun when they are working.

Customer Review: rear wheel assembly problem
    Sport shop rating: 2 Stars

We bought two e300 razors for the grandkids. One performs as advertised and the other is slow and labored. We made the effort to adjust the chain tension and discovered that the rear wheel assembly was faulty. The chain sprocket was not concentric with the wheel/tire so the chain was slack-tight-slack-tight...... Manufacturer has been contacted and indicated that they will send new assembly. If they do and if it is correct and the performance is the same as the other unit, we will be pleased with the product as the grandkids love them. If the follow up from Razor is not as they suggest, or if the new part is not correct, we will be very dissapointed. 50% satisfaction is about like 0% satisfaction, just ask the grandkid that can't keep up because of poor performance.

Customer Review: Run Time and Customer Service
    Sport shop rating: 2 Stars

After following ALL instructions accompanying the product we still experienced run times of two thirds less than reflected in accompanying literature. Attempts to contact Razor via email was about as frustrating as I've seen anywhere. The scooter is well constructed but battery life is very problematic. This may be a "fluke" with this particular battery but the customer service response is "weak" and pretty much leaves you hanging refering you to automated problem resolution suggestions that are basically the same as those that appear in the accompanying literature. I will attempt further contact with Razor via the web and phone.

    Customer Review: Inclines
    Sport shop rating: 2 Stars

[...]. This unit may be a great purchase for neighborhoods with flat terrain, but we have an incline not a HILL, just an incline and the unit would shut off automatically. Then we would have to hit the reset button to turn the unit back on. I know the unit has the reset button for a very good reason but this unit does not provide enough power for terrain with inclines. We purchased another unit and it is working wonderful. We have not tested it on a hill yet, but it definitely works on our inclines.

    Thank you
