In a word..."AWESOME"!!!
This Christmas (2008) Santa Claus delivered 2 E100 Razor Scooters to my house for my 2 oldest girls. The kids were unsure about these at first as it was cold and snowy out that day. However, 2 days later we had warm weather and I took the girls out to ride them. After an initial hesitation my girls took off and rode them until the battery lost power. Now this is the first thing they want to do any time the weather is above freezing (sometimes even if it is a little below).
These scooters are perfect for young kids (mine are 7 & 9). They are easy to use, don't go too fast, are very well put together. I couldn't have asked for a better gift for my girls.
I highly recommend this scooter as a first electric scooter for a child. My 5 year old now can't wait until she turns 7. ;-)
Description of Razor E100 Electric Scooter (Pink)
The Razor E100 electric scooter is extremely powerful and reaches speeds up to 10 mph. This scooter can be used for up to forty minutes of continuous use. There is a new chain driven motor and a new twist-grip throttle to control your acceleration. Features include a hand operated front brake, adjustable handlebar height, handlebar folding mechanism, variable speed chain drive, high torque motor, and rechargebale battery. For kids ages 8 +.Cruise around the neighborhood in style with the pink Razor E100 electric scooter. Boasting an adjustable handlebar that adapts to riders of all sizes, a chain-driven, high-torque motor, and a handy twist-grip throttle, the E100 is the perfect device for pre-teens and teens wanting to zip over to a friend's house or head to the park. Unlike Razor's E300S and E500S scooters--whose motors start from a standing position--the E100 requires a small manual kickoff to 3 miles per hour before starting (the rider presses a trigger to engage the motor). Once your child is on the move, however, the electric motor ramps up to 10 miles per hour--fast enough to have fun, but not fast enough to be a menace on the street or sidewalk. And thanks to the long-life rechargeable battery, which takes about eight hours to fully charge, riders can cruise for up to 40 minutes at a stretch. Other details include a folding handlebar mechanism for easy storage and transport, an 8-inch pneumatic front tire and 4.9-inch polyurethane rear wheel, and a hand-operated front brake. The E100 is recommended for ages 8 and older and offers a maximum weight capacity of 120 pounds. It also comes with a pair of 12-volt batteries, a charger, and tools and is backed by a 90-day warranty.
