Description of Razor A Kick Scooter

The original kick scooter, the Razor A is a handy little ride for kids and teens alike. Though it'll never replace the internal combustion engine, the scooter will get your child from point A to point B much quicker than on foot alone, and requires just a few scoots of one's shoes in the process. Plus, it's a blast to use, as your progeny will likely attest.

The Razor A is built of aircraft-grade aluminum, a sturdy material that holds up to use and abuse through the years. Its T-tube and deck, meanwhile, fold up into a compact footprint, so riders can fit the scooter inside a bag or carry it at their side when riding isn't appropriate (it weighs around 6 pounds). And thanks to the 98mm inline-style urethane wheels, ABEC 5 bearings, and patented rear fender brake, riders will always feel smooth and in control when kicking along the sidewalk.

Recommended for ages 5 and older, the Razor A will support a rider up to 143 pounds. It's also backed by a six-month warranty. For the next step up, try the Razor A2 Scooter.

When you're done riding, the Razor A folds down to a nicely compact size.

Sports reviews of Razor A Kick Scooter

Customer Review: Nice Little Scooter
Sport shop rating: 4 Stars

I bought this for my 6-year-old daughter (in pink) and she loves it. It's lightweight and very easy to handle. The handle bar moves up and down easily and putting it together was a snap. The only issue we've had with it is trying to fold it down. It is difficult to do for some reason, which it shouldn't be. So we leave it up most of the time, which isn't a big deal. Other than that we have no complaints. The price is really good for the quality. Now our 12-year-old wants one too!

Customer Review: awesome scooter
Sport shop rating: 4 Stars

I bought this scooter for my 6yr old son. It's an awesome scooter for any age. He loved it so much, he rides everywhere. It's not heavy, can be carried easily anywhere. Great scooter for great price.

Customer Review: Good Scooter
Sport shop rating: 3 Stars

Pros:
Easy to carry around
Faster than walking
More accessible than a bike (you can just grab it and takeoff, whereas you have to take the time to get on a bike)

Cons:
After a while, the scooter becomes a rough, bumpy ride (especially when going over sidewalks)
Slower than a bike

Customer Review: Product flawed, 6 months later Razor still hasn't made this right
Sport shop rating: 1 Stars

We purchased two of these scooters for my sons for Christmas. A few days before the holiday, we tried to put them together. While one went together in a snap, the other has a bent T-tube and the handle bars couldn't be inserted. We called Razor and they said they'd send out a new bar (not scooter) but it would be 6-8 weeks. Those Christmas gifts were put on hold. We did receive the replacement parts about 10 weeks later, but with no instructions or recommended tools. When I called to ask to be walked through, I was told there were instructions on the website - not so. I've searched the site, and there are no instructions for replacing parts on my scooter. I've called back a number of times, and was finally told it might make more sense to buy a new scooter if I couldn't figure it out - they weren't offering to replace my scooter, they just suggested buying a new one. It is now 5 months later, one scooter is in pieces and I've finally decided to trash the whole thing. We'll be purchasing new scooters for them both, and won't buy a razor product again.
