My podiatrist diagnosed me with achilles tendonitis and sold me an expensive ankle brace with lots of straps. It worked pretty well, but it was such a pain to put it on, adjust it just right, and then go, that I found myself not using it.
This support is much better. It takes no longer to put it on than a sock, and it provides the right compression on my tendon to let my ankle heal itself. I've been wearing it for two weeks now, and the daily pain I was having is basically gone again.
The size is ok for me, it's tight but not uncomfortably so. I could see it being a problem if you have larger ankles. If you're looking for a sizing guide: the neoprene part that wraps around your ankle is 10 inches long without stretching, plus the velcro overlap. It can stretch to 12 inches, or you can get another 3/4 inch by not completely overlapping the velcro. Either way, it won't be as comfortable. My ankle is 9.5 inches in circumference, and I find it comfortable to wear every day.
