This is just what we were looking for! We needed something portable for my husband to take back and forth to ball practice for my sons, and this was it! It is a little heavy, but I guess it would have to be. We don't have any small trees in our yard, and my kids don't play basketball, so this was our answer to hitting practice for our 8 year old. We haven't had any trouble with it yet. It is a great training aid and you can't beat the price that Amazon offers (especially with the free shipping!). We love it and it suits our needs! Thanks Amazon for having, again, what we couldn't find in any store around us!

Developed specifically for use with Hit-A-Way baseball, softball and tennis (sold separately), the Hit-A-Way Pole sets up in seconds for hours of practice anywhere. Collapses to less than 3 ?' and stores away compactly. Portable and transportable to a game or practice. Sets up anywhere - in a driveway, backyard, or practice field Base wheels and towing handle allow for easy transport. Pole locks into place for stability Foot pads keep pole in a steady position. Created in response to customers' requests for a pole that could be used for team practice. Provides a huge level of convenience Stores away compactly when not in use.The perfect practice partner for aspiring baseball and softball players, the Pro Performance Hit-a-Way pole lets you perfect your swing without the headache of lost balls or broken windows. The Hit-a-Way--which is compatible with Hit-a-Way and Zip-n-Hit trainers--starts with a practice pole that locks into place for safety and stability, with nonslip footpads on the base of each leg to maintain the pole position during use. Next, you simply attach one of the two hitting trainers (sold separately), each of which includes a baseball or softball at the end of a pair of cables. Once the trainers are installed, you can take practice swings to refine your stroke, learn "top-half" hitting, practice hitting pitches of different speeds and movement, and focus on improving your overall bat speed. Best of all, the Hit-a-Way pole sets up just about anywhere--in a driveway or backyard, at the practice field, or even near the diamond on game day. Just collapse the pole and throw it into the trunk, and then slide it open once you reach your destination. The Hit-a-Way pole--which includes a bonus loop attachment for a tetherball--weighs 55 pounds and is designed for ages 7 and older. The pole does not come with either model of trainer.
