Years ago, we used to fly controllable paper kites to pass the time when the wind was too strong to skydive. Those old kites lasted until the first time you really crashed one back into the ground,where they ended up as a broken mess.
The Prism Snapshot 1.2 was purchased because I wanted to show off to my 3 year-old, and standard paper kites were just too boring.
The kite came in a nice reusable pouch with everything needed to get it up in the air....except wind. It was smaller than I had anticipated, but that became mute when, once in the air, I was able to feel the power that this kite produces. The learning curve was quick and easy, and I had no problem learning to control the kite within a few minutes.
The real benefit of the kite is that if you crash it into the ground, there is never any damage due to the total elimination of struts or bars. Simply tug a couple of times so it can re-catch the wind, and you're sailing away!
My son has been enthralled by watching the kite go through its paces, and he demands to "help" control it by standing with me holding my hands. A great way to share some fun at the beach with my kid!
While I may step up to a larger kite in the near future, this one will remain as my "speedo", and as my son gets older, he may "inherit" it when large enough not to get carried away!

An ideal intro to dual-line control, it?s small enough to fit in your pocket, perfect for travel or those spur-of-the-moment flight sessions. Carefully shaped ram air inlets keep the wing from collapsing in gusty winds and the elliptical planform minimizes drag for speed and acceleration. If you crash while pushing the envelope, there?s no frame to break and in most cases the sail will re-inflate and launch itself without a helper.
