Customer Review: Awesome, Awesome, Awesome....To See, and Be Seen

Many roads in my area are pitch black super dark at night, so I bought two of these lights for night cycling. As soon as they arrived I mounted them both on my helmet at 45-degree angles for greater peripheral vision. Not only do these lights allow me to see into the woods in my periphery, but at the highest illumination, they also provide enough light for me to see a considerable distance in front of me -- not bad at all for the price. My only two quibbles are: 1) once the lights are mounted on either the helmet or handlebars, light positioning is limited. The lights only have vertical (up-and-down) adjustment for positioning, but it would be nice if they had swivel (left-and-right) positioning as well. This is a personal desire for this capability, however, the lights serve well enough without swivel adjustment; and more importantly, 2) once you have the light positioned at the angle you want, it might be difficult to hold the light fixed at that angle. I used a phillips screwdriver and a pair of needle-nose pliers to hold the nut while I tightened the screw. Even after tightening the screw to what seemed to be the limit, there was still some infinitesimal movability. I want the lights stern, stationary, and fixed considering the bumpy roads I'm sure to travel at night. I have to try them on the road a few times to give a real assessment of whether or not the lights stay steady enough to not disrupt riding. At this point, nonetheless, I still give these lights 5 stars because they are great for the price, despite my personal desires. If the movability becomes an issue, however, I will be sure to update this post.
