Sports reviews of Polar WearLink+ Replacement Strap (X-Small-Small)Customer Review: Poor design = not durable Sport shop rating: 2 Stars
The new design is superior in a number of ways to the original wearlink strap: it's more comfortable, easier to put on, and the transmitter does not touch your skin (and therefore isn't exposed to sweat). Unfortunately, there is a serious weak link in the design: There is a metal hook at one end of the strap that catches onto a fabric loop at the other end, holding the strap together. The fabric loop isn't strong enough, and mine tore off after about two months. You'll see similar complaints in other reviews. There is no easy way to repair the problem. Unfortunately, if you need a replacement strap for your wearlink transmitter, this seems to be the only game in town.
Customer Review: New style strap with hook tears easly. Sport shop rating: 2 Stars
I purchased the new style strap with the hook. The loop material you place the hook into tore at the stiching after about a month. Hey POLAR didn't your last fiasco teach you to test your products before you sell them! I like the new concept, but the band didn't last very long! Does anybody know were we can get the old design?
Customer Review: NOT COMPATIBALE Sport shop rating: 2 Stars
I COULD NOT HONESTLY REVIEWTHIS ITEM BECAUSE I BOUGHT AS A REPLACEMET FOR POLAR STRAP THAT I LOST ANDIT DOSE NOT WORK WITH MY POLAR WATCH.
Customer Review: Careful with the hook Sport shop rating: 2 Stars
The plastic/fabric catch broke after about thirty days. The tightness that felt comfortable to me was probably too tight for regular use.
Customer Review: Doesn't last very long Sport shop rating: 1 Stars
I previously posted a glowing review of this product, but have deleted it and am posting this new one.
I got this to work for about three months, then it stopped working. The strap is definitely more comfortable than the older models, but I've already gone through two of these in the past six months. I'm not sure what's causing it, but even some Polar users on Polar's Forums have run into the same problem.
Instead of this product, I'd recommend the older Polar T31C Coded Transmitter because it doesn't have the same issues with breaking down. Mind you, you can't replace the battery, but the T31c will last you about two years vs three months.
