Customer Review: Be Careful and Choose the Right Size
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

My shirt size is "M" and this strap fits fine on me, considering that I used it totally extended, so don't be fooled by the XXL size. Buy only the X - XS only if you are really skinny.

Also be aware that this replacement strap can't not be used with the old transmitters (T31 or T61), I know is obvious, but just in case.

If your Polar wrist watch came with one of the old transmitters, you should seriously consider changing it for the Wearlink. One big improvement from the original transmitters (T31 or T61 transmitters) is that with this model (the Wearlink) you only have to buy a new battery and replace it once they ran out and your transmitter is ready to use again. With the original ones you have to buy a new transmitter every time the battery dies, since the whole structure is sealed. So if your Polar wrist watch came with the T31 or T61, wait until the battery is finished and buy the Wearlink transmitter instead, you will save a lot of money over the years (compare the 39.95 US$ that the T31 or T61 cost vs the cost of a replacement battery).

The other big advantage is that the Wearlink transmitter is more confortable to wear, since it adapts better to the shape of your body since even the electrodes are flexible and are embedded in the fabric. Being flexible and all makes it easier to storage it your pocket when your finish training or if you are traveling.

In summary a great product for your Polar HRM, and a smart improvement if it is time to replace your old transmitter. Don't buy another T31 or T61, buy this one instead.

I run with my Polar six days a week, and probably train about ten hour a week with it. I used to have the T31 with my first Polar (the M61) so I can tell you first hand the Wearlink is far better. In summary more confortable, easier to wash, and a money saver. I was more than happy to trow the old one away after I bought this one.

Customer Review: Updated design is a great improvement
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

I purchased this replacement strap after I started to get inconsistent readings on my AXN 500 (circa 2006).

I determined that the problem was with my strap (I replaced the battery in both my watch and wearlink receiver and ensured that the contacts were clean from corrosion. I also noticed some cracks in my strap from twisting off the transmitter- old design had contacts on the end).

The changes from the old design are subtle but are solid improvements...
1)The strap now fastens on the side vs. fastening at the ends.
2)The transmitter fastens to two contacts on the front.

The strap is still recommended to be rinsed after every workout to ensure the contacts don't corrode and the contact points with your chest are clean. In doing so, my readings have been consistent ever since.

This is my second Polar HRM and it will not be my last(upgrading to the RS800cx multi). Their equipment is reliable, feature rich, with aesthetic appeal. I have interacted with the service department on many occasions (e.g. replacing batteries, requesting replacement straps) and they have been very responsive and reliable. Polar is truly unmatched in their space and their reputation goes a long way for me.

Customer Review: Better than original
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

I received this strap as a replacement to the original that was included with the purchase of my S625X HRM watch. The picture that is presented in Amazon shows the strap with connections at the ends to attach to the chest transmitter, this is wrong. The replacement strap is a WearLinkII that has the connections to the transmitter offset from the middle on a contiguous portion of the strap, not at the ends. I called support because they did not send what was pictured. They told me that the other strap is no longer made, this is an improved model and I should try it to see if it works. It does, very well.
Something should change on Amazon to eliminate any confusion, picture or description.

Customer Review: Polar Replacement Strap
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

Replacement strap is a much better design than the original that came with the Polar M61 I received a couple of years ago. It is less likely to suffer the same defect of having the snap detach from the strap since that was the method of putting the strap on across your chest. The replacement strap is also better designed in the contact area and seems to provide immediate and accurate heart rate readings; I haven't had the need of pre-wetting the strap to get a heart rate reading. It was also convenient to have two different sizes available (XS - S) and (M-XL)
