Description of Polar WearLink+ Coded Transmitter and Belt Set (Medium-XX-Large)

Polar chest strap and transmitters sold as a set. Coded transmitter works with current models except CS600 and RS800 but only eliminates interference (cross-talk) when used with a coded wrist or head unit. User replaceable battery. Antibacterial fabric. Easy-to-use side opening hook. Front transmitter connection. Fits 27-Inch to 60-Inch.
The Polar WearLink transmitter combines superior Polar technology with a new fabric design. The electrodes, which pick up the heart's signals, are engineered right into the fabric strap. The result is a superior fit for any individual body shape, providing revolutionary comfort and full freedom of movement. The transmitter's textile strap is removable and machine washable. Its clip-on mechanism ensures quick and easy wear, and the belt is easy to put on and take off.

Polar's coded technology ensures that the user picks up only their heart signal, and not the signal of another heart rate monitor nearby. With millions of HRMs in use today, there's a good chance that someone working out next to you may also have one on. Interference from any other HRM is now eliminated and an accurate signal is ensured.

About Polar
The first EKG accurate wireless heart rate monitor was invented by Polar back in 1977 as a training tool for the Finnish National Cross Country Ski Team. The concept of "intensity training" by heart rate swept the athletic world in the eighties. By the 1990s, individuals were looking to heart rate monitors not only for performance training needs, but also for achieving everyday fitness goals. Today, the same concept of heart rate training is being used by world-class athletes as well as everyday people trying to lose weight. Polar is the leading brand among consumers, coaches, and personal trainers worldwide and the company is committed to not only producing the best products, but also being the leading educator on the benefits of heart rate based exercise.

Sports reviews of Polar WearLink+ Coded Transmitter and Belt Set (Medium-XX-Large)

Customer Review: Side Hook much better then Popins of Original
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

I was so happy that this strap and transmitter had the strap connecting on the side instead of the snap in using the transmitter, since the tabs on the transmitter broke within a week of original purchase, and that was just taking it on and off for normal use.
The previous one still worked even though the little tab pieces broke but I had intermittent problems and I feel it was caused by the possible unsecure connection with those broken tab parts missing.
I was also not sure if it would work with my rs400 since it had the new technology but it worked, put it on and first try it quickly got my heart rate. It was a relief cause I was worried it could have been the watch not the strap that was failing to receive proper HR readings.
Got the item on schedule, came in sealed retail packaging within a padded envelope.

Customer Review: Works great (and out of the box) with Polar RS200 Monitor
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

I managed to lose the strap that came with my heart rate monitor and was very happy to see that I could buy a transmitter belt here and not have to to buy a new monitor and belt. I have been using my RS200 for a couple of years ( and really like it). I wasn't sure from the Polar site or reviews here (though maybe I didn't look closely enough) what it would take for the the transmitter to "talk with" the monitor. The good news is that there was no issue at all -- the monitor basically picks up the signal directly from the belt (probably helps to hold the watch near the belt).

The belt is comfortable and fits well (I have a 42" chest) and being able to easily replace the battery (versus sealed batteries in older belts) is a plus.

Highly recommended.

Customer Review: Finally - I can replace the battery!
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

I bought this belt to replace the one that came with my Polar watch (720i) since the one the watch came with did not have a replaceable battery (you are supposed to send the belt in and get a replacement belt for about $10 less than this belt - but you still can't replace the battery). So I figured I can buy this one and by the simple act of replacing the battery I can save myself a decent amount of money.

This band is very comfortable (I am a big guy at 6'4" with a large build and it fits me no problem). it is more comfortable than my original one and works great. And when I need to replace the battery, the belt came with several replacement battery gaskets so that I can ensure each replacement remains water tight.

Customer Review: Works like a charm!
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

I agree that this unit, the one with a replaceable battery, is the only way to go. This transmitter unit works just as I wanted it to with my receiver. It seems like it is made well, and of quality materials. Only time will tell, but I have used it frequently since I got it about a month ago, and I am very pleased.
I got the Medium-XXLarge size, and it fits me well. But I'm a guy 5 foot 8 and 180 pounds. So I'm not skinny, and I'm not fat. I'm kind of medium build. And the belt doesn't have much more adjustment available to get larger. So if you are large, you might want to see if there is a larger size available.

Customer Review: Much improved vs the previous model
Sport shop rating: 5 Stars

The picture on this product indicates the strap is the old model, where the band's ends clip into the transmitter module. I'd had problems with the old design due to sweat corroding the contacts and giving me intermittent pickup - I used to have to buy a new band every 6 months or so.

When I got the new set, I found that they had improved the design - the band now fastens at the side, with the transmitter still in the center but with rubber cups around the contacts to help prevent corrosion. Not had any issue so far, just reliable operation. Very happy with the new design.
