Description of Polar RS200sd Heart Rate Monitor Watch (Black)The RS200sd was made for competitive, goal oriented runners who want to enhance their running experience. With the S1 foot pod the RS200sd provides accurate speed and distance data like the S625X so you can combine pace with heart rate data. Use the Event Countdown Timer to manage your training leading up to your next running event. You can even upload your settings to your running computer and then download your workout files to the Polar Running Coach Web Service for analysis. WearLink fabric transmitter included. In order to reach your fitness goals, you need to exercise at the right intensity. Designed for goal-oriented runners, the Polar RS200sd wrist heart rate monitor helps you to easily and accurately measure your heart rate to help you get to just the right intensity or your exertion level. It's great for both beginning runners or more experienced runners preparing for competitions. With the included S1 foot pod, you'll be able to take advantage of the RS200's Speed and Distance functions, such as speed, distance and pace per kmph/mph, target pace (with alarms and differential), trip odometer, run distance, totals for mileage, calories and time training, and summaries for distance and speed/pace. Use the Polar Sports Zones and the Event Countdown Timer to manage your training for that key running event. You can even upload your settings to your running computer and then download your workout files to the Polar Running Coach Web Service for analysis. The RS200 offers up to 16 exercise files with summaries, date and time, and total calorie expenditure. This model features a black and silver face and strap, but it also comes in red. Heart rate monitoring includes maximum heart rate (fitness test-based and age-based), maximum/average of total exercise and of each lap (up to 99 laps), three target zones, and audible alarms. It also offers such timing features as time of day (12/24-hour display), dual time zone, day and date display, stopwatch, and alarm with snooze. It features an oversized display, easy to manipulate buttons while on the run, and a comfortable WearLink fabric transmitter. It's a great choice for using in large groups, where other exercisers might be using wireless training gear that could interfere with your own signal. The RS200's coded transmission prevents crosstalk with other monitors so you'll get a personalized workout--even in a class environment. It also includes the following exclusive Polar features: - Polar Sport Zones: Polar sport zones provides an easy way to select and monitor the intensity of your training and to follow PolarŐs sport zones based training programs. The training is divided into five zones based on percentages of your maximum heart rate: very light (50-60%HRmax), light (60-70% HRmax), moderate (70-80%HRmax), hard (80-90% HRmax) and maximum (90-100% HRmax).
- Polar OwnCal: This feature shows your energy expenditure during one exercise session as well as your accumulated kilocalories during several exercise sessions. You can set daily and weekly exercise goals in terms of calorie expenditure with the OwnCal feature. Because the OwnCal tracks both the energy expenditure during one exercise session and the accumulated kilocalories during a longer time e.g. one week, it helps in achieving both short term and long term goals.
- Polar OwnZone: This feature guides you through an appropriate warm-up routine and automatically determines a safe and effective exercise heart rate zone--your OwnZone--while taking into account your current physical condition.

Sports reviews of Polar RS200sd Heart Rate Monitor Watch (Black)Customer Review: Awesome for keeping track of work outs Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
This is my second Polar watch. I like everything about this watch, foot pod and chest belt.
Pros: Easy to use, comfortable and durable. The foot pod was accurate the first time I used it with no calibrating. I ran 4.81 miles and it recorded 4.80 miles traveled. The internet records that this watch allows you to keep will definitely make you a Polar fan for life. I use up to 8 different splits on a run so it keeps track of mph during each split and my average heart rate during those splits.
Cons: None
This watch is great for the money. It does exactly what I want it to do. It records my runs and distances traveled accurately. The calibrating of the foot pod will have to be done eventually. The foot pod worked great for me for a few months but as I got faster it became less accurate. All you have to do is recalibrate the foot pod and its right back to being nearly 100 percent accurate. The calibrating is as simple as running one lap around a track.
I recommend you turn off the Sound option as soon as you open the box. The directions will explain how to do this. The belt that goes around your chest will take a few runs to get the perfect fit. I recommend going on the tighter side rather than on the loose side.
Customer Review: Great Heart Rate Monitor for the avid runner! Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I found the Polar RS200sd to be a great heart rate monitor. I'm 37 years old and I've just started a work out program to get back into shape after many years of a sedentary life style. Part of my program involves cardio (i.e. running) and the other part involves resistance training. I found this monitor to be adequate for the resistance training and exceptional for the running. It has a significant number of features, probably more than I actually need. My favorite is the fact that when your running all you need to do is to raise the watch to within 3 inches of the chest strap and the watch automatically switches between modes. This is handy so you're not fumbling through the menu when in the middle of a run. The only criticism I have is with Polar itself and not the watch per se. For some reason, the software that you can get with the watch to further analyze your workouts is only PC based and I have a MAC. Other than that, it's a great product and I won't workout without it! Exceptional value for the price.
Customer Review: Excellent Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
This watch is an excellent choice for basic running. I'm not an athlete, but I wanted to start some exercise after Christmas parties. I bought it with the footpod and works great. It can measure distance, speed, calories, heart rate, and time of course. It records average values and maximum values. You can access polar personal trainer on the web, open a free account and download information via microphone, to the web service. Really good for establishing a goal and keep track of your progress. The only complain I have is that you need at least 8 hours to read user manual and other 8 hours to try a test, and to know how to use it, otherwise you will be using only 20% of it capacity.
Customer Review: Solid and Dependable Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
I am currently training for the Marine Corp Marathon and recording all my runs using this watch. I am tracking against a training program i created on the polar training website. The watch included the optional footpod. I find this to be an invaluable tool as I use it to track pace (min/mile) as well as total distance. Overall i am extremely happy with this purchase. As a long distance runner i am able to keep track of my heart rate and better manage my fitness through training zones. This is not perfect as i find i am typically running at 90% of my maximum heart rate unless i make a concerted effort to slow down.
Customer Review: Polar RS200SD Heart Rate Monitor Review Sport shop rating: 5 Stars
Pros: Price, Weblink, accurate, not big, easy to navigate.
Cons: none
I have had no problems with my Polar RS200SD. It is extremely accurate. and easy to use although more advanced interval monitoring is a little cumbersome. For anyone looking to purchase a heart rate monitor for the first time the RS200SD is a great start and has the weblink feature that lets you use Polar's software to breakdown and visualize your workout heart rate data. I have not used the foot pod so I can't comment on it. I've had very good luck with mine so far.
