- Zone Pointer: A visible and audible feature on the display of your heart rate monitor showing your target heart rate zone and where your current heart rate is within that zone.
- Polar OwnCal: This feature shows your energy expenditure during one exercise session as well as your accumulated kilocalories during several exercise sessions. You can set daily and weekly exercise goals in terms of calorie expenditure with the OwnCal feature. Because the OwnCal tracks both the energy expenditure during one exercise session and the accumulated kilocalories during a longer time e.g. one week, it helps in achieving both short term and long term goals.

I use this to run and also at the gym. The Polar transmitter belt works with most treadmills, ellipticals, stair steppers and bikes at the gym so that is really nice to have your heart rate displayed on their screens. I like to be able to set target zones for my heart and it beeps once I've reached that. Helps me to know where I am and how hard I'm pushing myself. The color of the band is not my favorite pink shade and it's not as feminine of a shape as I would like (Nike makes one that looks better, but it doens't work w/ gym equip), but to me the look isn't what's important. It displays the calories burned, avg heart rate, max heart rate, and time of exercise and the end of your workout. Very handy for the workouts!Customer Review: Pink Polar Heart Rate Monitor

The monitor works very well. I especially like the fact that it interacts with the excerise machines at the club that I go to. In other words, I don't have to wear the watch part of it when I'm at the gym--it transmits directly to each machine.
About the watch--I like it, except for the color. I specifically ordered the women's watch because I have a very small wrist and I wanted to make sure I could get it small enough (which I can). However, when I am bragging up the product to other people, I find myself apologizing for the color, and making sure they know I didn't actually choose to wear that awful pink. You know, it's very difficult to think of oneself as an athlete while wearing powder-puff pink!!

I love this watch.
First, it's pink. Yes, but how about a big bonus? You can download all sorts of graphics to personalize it. I have a Hello Kitty graphic on mine. It's awesome. I think if you have Windows and can download the Polar program you can also create your own custom graphics.
No cable mess to upload or download files to/from it. It works using a modem-like beeping. You can download your files using free & open source software, in Linux. This is a big bonus for me because I don't have Windows.
I have yet to find a cardio machine or brand of cardio machine that it doesn't 'just work' with. It's great to not have to stress about what machines are available.

I can't exercise without this thing. I've had it for over a year now and the batteries have not died yet. It tracks all calorie expenditure and heart rate activity. It not only gives you your high and low heart rates during an exercise, but the average you were at for the duration as well. Before I got this HRM, I didn't realize how off I was on my exercises. I wasn't exerting myself enough. This thing tracks where you are at no matter how you feel and tells you if you need to increase or decrease your intensity. I haven't had a problem with it and I've dropped it several times on accident. It's waterproof so you can soap it up and wash your sweat off of it. I love this thing! I love my heart monitor. The hardest part for me is remembering to put it on when I'm not working out at the gym since it's always in my gym bag. It is very easy to use, and I love the ability to chart your progress. It's also very comfortable, and once you put it on you forget that it's there. I have even been known to fall asleep with it on. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone that is wanting to get in better health. I finally know when I'm not working hard enough or if I'm working too hard.
The only thing that I'm not looking forward to is when I have to send the chest strap in to replace the battery...
