As the other reviews have stated this is a great attachment. I agree that the modification you have to do the G25 shifter wasn't expected and it took some time to figure out exactly where the screws were to remove that bottom tightening bracket. Also one of the screws was stripped on my shifter so it was harder to get them all out.
I also agree that the lack of vertical height adjustment is my only real problem with this unit. Coming from using my previous setup on a desk I am used to having the shifter more on the level of the wheel. And the height of it in the seat means its a bit low for my liking, but with some use I will get used to this.
I might also suggest buying this when you get the chair if you own a G25.

This is a sturdy little adapter that attaches to the playseats chair. It's only necessary if you have a detached shifter (like the G25) though I suppose you could modify it for a beverage holder etc.
It has pretty good X and Y adjustments. my only disappointment is that there is no Z adjustment (up & down). It's just a hair too low for my liking and I have a seat adjuster on the way that will raise the playseats chair another inch or two, making it even lower. While an adapter should be fairly easy to make...I feel it should have come with something already for the price.

If you own the Logitech G25 you really want this gearshift holder. It installs easily and is positioned very nicely. It's sold and adjusts easily. I wish I could slide back just a little more, but it's OK as it is. I definitely recommend it. BTW, it mounts either on the left or right side, so UK/Oz drivers will feel at home, too.
If you have a racing wheel without a gear shift, you don't need it obviously.

If you have the Playseat and a G25 or other wheel with shifter, you have to have one of these. I tried to work without it after emptying my wallet on the Playseat alone, but nothing else works.
It's expensive. It's a bit tricky to install. The directions are NOT intuitive. It doesn't adjust for elevation or height.
but, it's well made, handsome and does the job.
