Wow. I have never encountered any of those $100+ gun cases so I don't know if this case is just so-so compared to them, but this is the best case I have ever owned. I have three other plastic hard cases and this is by far the most sturdy out of them all. It is rather large (borderline too large) and can easily accommodate my two 1903 Springfields, which are heavy behemoths. It has six latches and a heavy-duty folding handle with a rubber wrap for a nonslip grip. Even though this is entirely made of plastic (with the exception of the hinge pins), when you pick it up you can just tell that this is NOT your average Made In China POS. The egg crate foam inside is thick and plush; and in tandem with the center crush-resistant pillars it does an good job of keeping my two rifles separated even without using the included strapping system. If it came to airline travel I wouldn't trust my best rifles in it, but I would trust some of my daily shooters in it. The final bonus was the price; $44 with free shipping! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to a dear friend and if I had it to do over again I'd buy the same exact case. Unless you're in the market for a $100+ aluminium case, stop shopping around cause you just found your next purchase.
