The Planet Bike Blinky "3" 3-Led Rear Bicycle Light provides 300 percent brighter eXtreme LEDs to ensure that you will be seen by cars coming up from behind for as far as one mile away. This is a great product for the money. The mount was a cinch to install on the seat post of my bike and took only about 10 minutes. It comes without instructions, and I was a little puzzled at first as to how to install the batteries. That was a minor hurdle and certainly no reason to rate the light down at all. It was a simple matter of pulling the red lens cover away from the black part. It takes a little effort, and I was afraid of breaking it. However, it proved to be up to the task so don't be too worried about that--you should be able to do it with just your hands easily enough. I can't speak to the battery life at this point, but the light is BRIGHT! When I held it at arms length I was seeing spots afterwards. I have these on the back of my xtracycle - which is a cargo bike(www.xtracycle.com). I have two mounted on the back, along with a Down Low Glow by Rock the Bike Down Low Glow Lighting Kit - Two Tubes -Ice(blue) for side visibility. These are very bright and last a long time. Easy to put on your bike too. Best of all they are made by Planet Bike, who gives 25% of their profits back to the community. I also like these because they are relatively inexpensive. Blinkies fall off your bike so much that I hate to spend alot for them.

I was new to biking, and am a complete maximizer whenever I'm shopping for tech/equipment for a new hobby. I'm one of those guys that tries to read every product review to find the absolute best product for the best price. That said, I bike to commute to work, and live in New York City. I needed a rear light to alert other bikers/traffic when traveling at night. This little guy is very bright for the size/cost, has a blinking mode/steady mode, is easy to mount, and is super cheap! It slides into it's bike mounting ring using a clip, so if you wanted you could unclip it and use it on your bag or helment. This little Blinky packs a lot of light into a tiny package! I found it very easy to attach and I always use it in the flashing mode. To test it, I had my neighbor follow me at night in his car - he could easily see me more than several blocks away in very dark conditions. That was more than enough distance to give me peace of mind that I was clearly visible to traffic. I use the Blinky with the Beamer 3 LED headlight and feel very safe and protected. I also like the construction of Blinky - it seems very durable, solid and well made. I purchased this light over three months ago, along with one for my wife, and we have not been disappointed. Most importantly, we can be seen with this light by others. My wife and I ride together in and around downtown Newport, RI and often at night. This light definitely alerts others to a bicycle rider ahead. Also, I had no problems mounting the lights to my Diamondback mountain bike and my wife's Diamondback mountain bike -- it took less than 10 minutes. At less than $8, I would definitely make this purchase again if I needed another light.
