I bought this flashing light to use for walking on the road for exercise in a rural area. It is always a stretch to use something for other than its intended purchase. As a test I sent my Amish friend Jakie in his buggie in the opposite direction and believe you me he could see me from plenty far way. You don't want to accidently get run over by a horse and buggy during your exercise walks. The flashing pattern catches the eye (different from anything else on the road), the LEDs are bright, you can easily clip it to even heavy clothing with the standard clip, and the batteries last a long time. I feel much safer walking with this product and part of the money goes to advancing the use of bicycles as transportation so both sides win! Great tail light for your bike for a good price... Look up some videos at YouTube if you don't believe how great it is. I recommment it to everyone who rides a bike. Sometimes I clip it to my backpack to make sure cars see me in the evening/night when walking at places without pavement.
To make sure... this is a red LED light, not a white one, it just has clear case. I also bought the one in red case (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000KBEH1W) and it works and looks the same (except the different color of the case). One is for my bro...

I've had this tail light for 2 years now and I love it. It is the brightest tail light I've seen and people have commented multiple times on how bright and visible it is. Easy to install and the mounting system makes it easy to take your light with you when you lock up your bike.
My only critique is that the button to turn the light on and switch between modes doesn't have much tactile feedback. So if you're trying to reach behind your seat while riding to turn it on, it's difficult to know if you've done so. Not really a problem, just a thought.
I wouldn't suggest any other light and this item is a must if you ride at night.

I have almost complete faith that, if I am seen by someone coming up behind me in a car, they will make at least a minimal effort to avoid hitting me. The trick then, is to make sure they see me.
The flash this light puts out is hard to miss. Unlike the blinky which just blinks a red light, this little light strobes a very bright white light and then blinks. It is very attention getting. It can readily be seen even in daylight. I recommend this for anyone who finds themselves riding at night, dusk, dawn or in cloudy weather.
It won't save you from drunks or psychopaths though, so keep an eye out for them.

I LOVE my Planet Bike Blinky Superflash Tail Light! It is INCREDIBLY bright (blinding if you look right at it from close up) and thus I feel a lot safer riding before it gets fully light in the morning and/or as it starts to get dark at the end of the day. This is my 3rd purchase of these lights (and this time around I bought TWO of them just in case)-- nothing wrong with the lights, they last FOREVER-- I just broke one in a crash earlier this year and then had another one pop off the back of my bike when I hit a bump at 40+ mph on a descent and hadn't made sure that the light was fully secure before heading home that day. :-)
