The negative review about having to take the thing apart just to get the ab straps on - nope - just slide one arm off at the pivot point with just enough room to slide the abs straps up and over the bar and then re-attach the arm again at the pivot point. Takes about 10 secs or so. Mine didn't come with the clip on strap - actually I like the style they us now - feels very comfortable.
The quality is fine. It's rugged construction and can easily support my 218 lbs. FYI - even though I have a relatively narrow door opening (about 30 inches) I still can do both straight and oblique knee ups just fine. I just started mixing the perfect pull up in with my kettlebell routine and I'm very pleased with the physical results of using the two together. I'm only just beginning to use the ab straps but there is no question you'll get a serious workout of your core.
IMHO the perfect pull up along with the abs straps work just as advertised. Plenty of exercises to mix in with any other workout combination.
I wouldn't hesitate to purchase either product again.
