I purchased the reaching tool and use it primarily to pick up weeds after I have cultivated in my garden. It makes it fun and I am not bending over as much. It works well.Customer Review: Gopher is fragile, but works well.

Ontel GOP2-MC18/6 Gopher 2 Pick Up and Reaching Tool
This Gopher reaching tool works very well. You just cannot let children play with it, which is hard to stop because it is fun. I purchased two of these because shipping was free with the 2nd one. I got it to help me from having to bend over and pick up things after a hysterectomy. The first one broke within 2 days, in the hands of a 13 year old boy, who did not seem to be abusing it. The 2nd one I have discouraged the kids from playing around with it so it won't be broken. I think it will be handy in the long run, if I can keep it from being ruined.

I use these tools when I walk on the side of the Autobahn (the nationally coordinated motorway system in Germany) in Germany. I find many dead rodents that I pick up and store in a bag. I usually take them home to prepare if they're not too damaged. I also use it to pick up bottles of whiskey (I siphon the leftover whiskey in each bottle to form a full bottle) or cans so I can recycle them.
Unfortunately the quality of this brand is really not that good.

The Gopher II is ok for light stuff, had two, both broke with normal use. Weak construction. Need for neighbor that often misses the trash can in the alley and I am the one to clean it up because they are pigs.
Ordered a stronger grabber on Amazon. Waiting for that one to come.

This is a very cheap grabber. It won't pick up anything with any kind of weight. When the first one was delivered, I noticed the box was bent. When I opened the box, the tool had been snapped in half. This may be due to UPS mis-handling it, or very poor packing on Amazon's part. There was no pagaing material to protect the item. Amazon did replace it promptly. I wouldn't recommend this grabber, if you wish to pick up anything heaver that a piece of paper you can't reach.
