Customer Review: Great knife for the cash.. . Could be better??

NOTE: the total blade length is 3.75 inches, cutting edge is 3.5 inches (not 3.25 as advertised). I bought this knife after seeing some YouTube reviews on it. Some folks were comparing it to a Spyderco Tenacious, and I'll get back to that... Anyway, this is a heavy-duty knife and out of the box, it's very sharp - a thick/large blade. This is a heavier knife too and somewhat long in the pocket - not really a business carrier for some, but I'm fine with it. I've recently purchased several other knives, and found each of them to have great qualities, as does this one. I must say the RAT1 is the hardest to open, and to close. It's a very stiff action knife out of the box, and will require a bit of work to function (flipping open). The liner lock on mine is very, very tight, and nearly hard to push with your thumb, and it's got some sub-standard jimping - so the liner lock is sucky-ish, smallish and harder to work. The grip is a bit slick, but looks good, and the grip feels really nice in your hand (indention for index finger is super and very safe feeling). The blade is a big sturdy one, with great jimping on the top - the blade is a higher quality AUS 8 steel. It has a 4 way adjustable clip and looks to be made out of good quality parts. Lastly, the blade design has a really good belly on it and is very usable for all cutting tasks. After a few days, this thing will grow on you, and after some oiling it flys open.. Again, for the money, this thing is hard to beat. And, the RAT has great sturdy feel and at a price where you cannot feel bad for using it to much. The AUS8 blade is why I bought this knife (at this price) and it will not dissappoint - this is a straight-up cutter and loves to be used/abused. The misses herein are somewhat minor, and the great blade and feel on this make up for it. I have a Spyderco Tenacious, and it's a little nicer looking, more modern, but is NOT a user like this thing. The Tenacious is lighter and extremely sharp, no doubt, but the RAT 1 is a bigger brother here. At the end of the day, the RAT1 is a raw performance knife, and will likely beat-out many for this reason (especially for 28$). If you plan to use a knife for hard work, law enforcement, camping, or hunting, this is the choice over most knives (under $50 price range). Get one to rotate in your daily carry, or for daily use.
Update: used this to open and cut up some very, very thick card board (boxes 3/8's inch), the blade lost some edge and I used a Smith's diamond sharpener to re-hone it. I couldn't achieve the factory sharpness after about 20 minutes of sharpening.. It will barely shave hair.
So, this is hard freakin steel, and will take a while to sharpen this thing. I suggest that you use a ceremic Lansky, or Sypderco Sharpmaker.. UPDATE: after more time (10 minutes medium rods, then fines) with the Lansky sharpener, I've achieved hair shave sharp again.. This knife is completely awesome. Hopefully, Ontario will update the grip texture, NEEDS a frame lock - instead of the liner lock, S30V??? Oh please.. . This would be the best knife in my collection if so (but, they'd likely raise the price)?? A - overall, but A+ for the price.
