Customer Review: Great for tracking; not so great for the very muscular

This product has a lot of neat (if not entirely useful) features that are fun to play with. It tracks weight, body fat, muscle, visceral fat and what age it thinks your body is (as opposed to pure biological age). Additionally, it stores the highest value for each of those items over time, so you can see how you are trending; which is exceptionally useful.
The reason I took a star away from a perfect score, is a small detail about the body fat calculations. Typical BIA devices generally modify the calculation for how much body fat you have, based on if you meet the guidelines they typically call "athlete" (meaning that you exercise more than 5 hours a week at a fairly intense level). This BIA device does NOT provide that functionality. If you fit the category of a regular intense exerciser and are female, you will find that it estimates a body fat percentage up to 5% more on this device than other BIA devices which have the athlete calculation (such as the Omron hand held BIA or the Tanita scale BIA).

I purchased the Omeron Body Composition and ScaleOmron Full Body Sensor Body Fat and Body Composition Monitor several weeks ago and love it so far. It was easy to set up and relatively easy to understand the directions. I find the information that it generates very interesting and it's been motivating me to try to increase my muscle mass and decrease my fat. With this scale, I can see for myself when I'm losing fat or when I'm losing muscle so you know which exercise or diet plans are working and what aren't. It's a good buy for the money and if you're in the market for a scale - why not get all the information you can from it?Customer Review: I'm a fan

Works great. Weight measuring seems to be accurate and consistent. Body fat analysis is also consistent. Just make sure you use it at the same time every day with similar amounts of water in your body. I understand that some other body composition monitors have an 'Athlete' function and this scale does not. If you exercise that much and that strenuously this scale may not be the best choice for you. I like how it tells me not only what the numbers are but what category that places me in (skinny, normal, overweight, obese). It does this for fat %, visceral fat, skeletal muscle, and bmi. It is a cool looking scale. Im not sure about the body fat/muscle composition reading feature. It seems a bit gimmicky and somewhat inaccurate. Though it is good for tracking drastic changes over time. Don't be alarmed when you suddenly have 5% more bodyfat at the end of the day, it's just a weird reading caused by changes in electrolyte/water levels. The scale is accurate, as I weigh the same on it as I do on the calibrated scale at the doctor's office.Customer Review: The best scale on the market

This is a top of the line product made very well and easy to use, as long as you read the instructions. I love this scale and I'm sure it will be with me for at least a decade.
