Customer Review: Good overall, won't fit bottle cage on bike, hard to open top

The product works as advertised. I bought it mainly to replace all of the bottled water that we seem to buy and refillable plastic bottles we have with BPA's. I fill up this bottle before local shopping trips, or jaunts in the car or on the bike. I keep it in the fridge and grab it and go. I also set it in a shady spot in the yard while working outside. The spout is hard to open and close and seems very cheaply made for the bottle, plus it doesn't let air in as you drink and you almost have to suck the water out. Unscrew the cap off and your good to go. That's the way I do it most of the time. The bottle sweats quite a bit with cold water, but I expected that. I will not be putting it on my desk or any wood surfaces at home. Not a problem for me. The 1 liter capacity is just right for me, but I will be buying other family members this bottle in the smaller size (.6 liter) as they don't chug quite as much water as I do. I very much like the idea that I'm not adding another plastic bottle to the landfills. That is the overriding positive about this bottle. I would recommend this product and the companies products in general. My wife and I both got one of these a few weeks ago to replace the plastic bottled water we are used to drinking from. We use it on the commute to and from work and at our desks at work. They are great. The water tastes as good or better (from our filtered fridge) than the bottled water did. My biggest beef is the bottle is a bit larger than a water bottle, and so although it still fits in my backpack, car cupholder, etc., it is tad bit more cumbersome in my hand. The previous reviewer noted that these bottles "chirp" like a bird, and they do. However, I found that if the air hole is straight "up" (closest to your nose) when you drink, and the water inside is not up against the hole, there is no chirping noise. It takes a bit of concentration/practice, but during a meeting last week I used the bottle several times in the space of an hour without any chirping. All in all, this is a well-made, great stainless steel bottle that we plan on using for many years to come. Finally, 26 oz is NOT a liter according to Google, who state that "1 liter = 33.8140226 US fluid ounces." But these bottles are still plenty big enough for our uses.Customer Review: Purchase two, Glad this is an option over Plastic

I purchased two of these after reading about plastics leaching into the water. I carry water to the gym and also keep a container at work. Since I'm in my mid 40's now, I'm seeing some issues my doctor can't explain. Since I fairly healthy and go to the gym 3-6 times a week, eat a lot of raw foods, still cook some., stay away from processed as much as possible, now I'm down to seeing what other items might be effecting my life. Got rid of all of my plastic containers, at least the ones I microwaved in. Switched over to glass containers to take to work if possible. Salad still use old style rubber made, with the 5 recycle symbol not the new stuff from china. Glass containers from the Container store, with the rubber seal. Old style clamp. Can put small qty's in for my lunches. A work in progress, Hope things start to adjust back to normal.
The top nozzle could be a bit better, room for improvement, but at least their is a large container option out their which is the best point. So thats why I gave it 4 stars.

Customer Review: Bike cages and caps

Ok, here's the deal with bike bottle cages. This bottle is just barely too big to work well in a metal cage, but I use it with my plastic Profile Kage cages and it fits beautifully. Get the circular cages that are split down the front with the o-ring. They can be had for about $2.50 at Nashbar or Performance. The sport cap is a bit tough to suck water out of. It has a valve to let air into the bottle and the valve is just a little too stiff. It works OK and doesn't leak, but could be better. Definitely get the bundle deal with the screw-on cap. The screw cap fits well and works great. Overall, I would give this bottle 2.5 stars with the sport cap and 5 stars with the screw cap (not the flat cap, the one with the horizontal hole in it in the "Better Together" offer). Once you take the label off, these are the coolest looking bottles out there. They look very manly despite the purple cap and won't get mixed up with anyone else's bottle.Customer Review: great bottle, bottle top not so much

really good price for a quality bottle, but im not a fan of the sports top. it doesn't leak, but the cap doesn't really stay on to protect the nipple from getting dirty. i kind of figured i wouldnt like the top ahead of time, and i would have liked the option to purchase this bottle with the carabiner top like the 20oz and 40oz bottles have. it's possible that i missed it, but i did look for a way to do this. the one liter size fit my needs best, and i saw that i could buy a cap for it later. overall great deal on the bottle, even after shipping it was cheaper than purchasing at a local store. it will be about the same after purchasing the other cap for it, but im not unhappy with the purchase. its very sturdy for the price.
