I purchased this filter under the suggestion of a good friend who had yet to receive hers. We are both aware of the chlorine content in our water and also suffer from severe allergies, thus we decided on a filter. I had recently noticed that I would get hives and sometimes start to wheeze in the shower, so I decided this filter was inexpensive enough and rated well enough to give a whirl. After the first shower I noticed a difference.
The filter was rather easy to put on for my type of shower head, though I have scoped out many a friend's and realize this may not be the case for all mechanisms. My shower head is attached to a hose (so that it is detachable--definitely a bonus!) that is screwed on through a part of the faucet. Thus all I had to do was attach the filter to the piece that connects the hose and faucet. This seriously took about one minute.
I find there is no difference in water pressure in my set-up. The one fault is that when the faucet alone is running, it does not run through the filter. I find no issue with this because I don't take many baths. Occasionally water will seem to spill out from the part that connects the hose and the filter, but once I pull the lever for the shower head to receive the water, this issue seems to disappear. Again, this experience may be different for alternate set-ups.
Since regularly using my filter I am so pleased I may never go without one. I have not had another allergic reaction, my skin feels so much more fresh, and an added bonus is that my hair is much softer and doesn't get oily as quickly. I haven't had to change the inner filter yet since it has only been a couple of months. The box says the filter should be good for a whole year, though I am assuming that because of the old age of my apartment pipes as well as New York City pollutants, I may have to change it sooner.

Been using this for about 2 months now. My water was pretty bad and used to leave my skin really dry and sometimes itchy. The filter helped that out some. The water does feel a little different - hard to describe, like it's more slippery and rinses cleaner or something. Didn't realize this was actually helping until I spent about a week staying with a friend and using their shower. For me, it wasn't a huge difference, but it did make a difference. I assume that is because it is eliminating much of the chlorine, which would make it worth buying even if the benefits weren't outwardly visible.Customer Review: Hair feels softer, scalp less dry and itchy. Won't see instant results, however I've been using this for just over a week now and I can say that my hair has definitely changed in a better way. Also I do agree with others when they say that your skin feels less itchy after taking a shower. This is definitely something I would recommend Northern winter climates with extremely dry air, chlorinated water only adds to the problem.
Extremely easy to install and comes with tape to seal the connection. Claims to last a year and for the price this is better then some big bulky filter by those other guys in my opinion.

I purchased this product about a month ago and wanted to give it some time before I commented on it.
First of all the filter was really easy to install. No special tools were needed for installation. They even included plumber's tape (which I recommend using for a drip-free installation).
After using the shower with the new filter, i did notice that the water smelled cleaner, the soap seemed foamier, and my hair and skin felt cleaner. These are all just observations, but it seems like the filter is doing what it was designed to do.

I have had a new wave filter on both my showers for over a year. Went to replace the cartrage after a year on both. One seemed to be ok. The other one was cracked where showerhead attached. Not sure what caused the cracks ( leaked),But I replaced it.
I highly reccommend this filter. My skin and hair feels and looks so much better. Be sure to change filter cartradge after a year...and inspect housing. 2 thumbs up
