This DVD is one of the best sports profiles I have ever seen. For one it details the life of arguably one of the greatest athletes in the history of professional sports. Even if you know the life of Messier and feel you don't the DVD, trust me you do. The DVD begins with a combination of short video clips of Messier with someone reading the poem "If" by Rudyard Kipling. I use that part as a football coach to motivate my players in Mississippi. Even though none of them know anything about hockey, they could run through a brick wall. This Movie is must for any sports fan. If you are a Messier fan and don't have it get it today. Because if you watch it everyday until the day you die, it won't be enough!

DVD release includes exclusive stories about Messier's career from friends and bonus footage and interviews.Hockey great Mark Messier is profiled in this DVD that documents his career from childhood hockey leagues in his native Canada to NHL superstardom in New York City. Messier first achieved stardom as a member of the Edmonton Oilers' dynasty of the 1980s, which won three Stanley Cups in four years. But he rose to his greatest fame, and escaped from the shadow of Wayne Gretzky, when he arrived with great fanfare in the Big Apple and sought to lead the downtrodden Rangers to the Stanley Cup, a seemingly impossible goal. Mark Messier: Leader, Champion & Legend shows vividly how Messier initially faced some rocky times after arriving in Madison Square Garden before the Rangers finally won the biggest prize in hockey after a 54-year drought.
