We purchased this on Amazon from Hydration Station after seeing a friend with one. After reading the reviews, I was a bit apprehensive, but when I received the mister with the well-written instructions, it's obvious that as long as you make sure all of the rings are maintained and properly greased (and replaced when they start to harden or crack), there should never be any pressure problems unless there's a breakage issue somewhere. It's very easy to use, and the manufacturer's website is very good. I'm sure they have good customer service because of their warranty, well-written instructions, great website, and nearly wide-open availability of their customer service agents. If you do end up having problems (we've had ZERO), I'm sure it's something that could be resolved quite easily. They give replacement valves for free if the unit is under a year old, and if you have to buy valves, it's $10 for a pack of 3. Whatever you do, contact Misty Mate directly, not the people who sold it to you.

Getting to the usefulness of the unit itself, the mist works great for cooling. I was hiking at 10,000 feet above sea level in the sun this weekend, and like others have said, it's a lifesaver. Throw some ice in it and you're good to go for a while and it's easy to refill. 5 pumps are all it takes to get my 24-ouncer pressurized sufficiently. You must pump it until the pump handle wants to pop up a bit when you let go, otherwise it may not have enough pressure, but this is ok because when you zip the cover up, it holds down the pump handle. But you don't want to pump it so much that the pump handle is coming out more than just a little bit. If you go beyond that, you'll blow an o-ring and lose all of your pressure. The "pump 25 times" in the instructions is just a recommendation.

The one I ordered didn't have the golf ball on top, but I don't know why this is too much of an issue since the cover would hide it anyway.

The pocket on the cover is big enough to hold my truck key w/remote, but probably not much else, but that's fine with me.

I highly recommend this product, and all of my camping/hiking/fishing friends are probably buying this the next time they're on the internet. I had a hard time holding onto it, because everyone was constantly borrowing it. I'm probably buying another one because I love this thing so much.
