This is by far the most intense workout DVD I own. It really makes you sweat and work hard. Most workouts seem to be around 30-35 minutes in length and I feel like I'm just getting started when they end. Med Ball Madness is the perfect length at about 50 minutes. It really works you hard and works every part of your body. Your arms get a workout because you are holding the medicine ball, Mindy works your core during the cardio workout as well as during the floor exercises, and your legs get a workout with lots of squats.
This workout is definitely on the intermediate to advanced level. I'm worn out by the time we get to the floor work. I don't usually finish all of the floor work, but I still have managed to lose 10 pounds since I began using this DVD. Mindy starts with standing strength and cardio exercises. You'll do a series of strength moves and then a cardio burst. The steps are a bit difficult at first. There are several dance moves, and since I am not a dancer it took me several tries to get it right. After several sets of strength/cardio comes the floor work. The moves are pretty advance...lots of push-ups on the medicine ball and plank as well as some back-strengthening exercises. You will definitely feel it the next day.
I bought a 6 lb medicine ball which is a bit heavy. I believe Mindy and the other women in the video use 4 pound balls.
The only part that I find somewhat annoying is that Mindy says every move is her "favorite". Other than that I don't really have any complaints. Great workout!
