Another great product at a great price from Melissa & Doug. This toy seems so simple, and indeed when my daughter was younger it was maybe too simple, and she preferred noisemaking or light-up toys, but now at ten months she has the manual dexterity to really explore this toy. She also has six teeth and hasn't killed the toy yet, so that speaks to its durability. I like that it's one less plastic thing in the house, but do be aware that wooden toys are heavy and solid. What's surprising to me is that she has never pinched her finger in between the blocks (which are held together by an elastic cord tied through small holes drilled in the center of the segments. It's pretty well-designed and I don't think she'll wind up getting a pinch -- it's just the right amount of tension to keep it together and keep it sturdy without being dangerous.
