Thermal shoulder wrap with hot/cold reusable gel pack includedThe McDavid thermal shoulder wrap is designed to provide safe, effective, hands-free treatment for injuries with maximum comfort and convenience. The shoulder wrap works with both soothing hot or icy cold therapy, with an insulating neoprene material that helps maintain the desired temperature. Cold is generally applied to acute injuries immediately after trauma, as cold therapy constricts blood vessels to reduce the swelling, block pain, and promote healing. Compression and elevation are also important in the immediate treatment of acute injuries. By contrast, users should apply heat to chronic injuries (ongoing conditions). Heat therapy increases the blood flow to the injured area, helping the body remove and reabsorb cellular byproducts. Heat is also soothing, and can reduce pain and stiffness. Note, however, that heat should never be applied to an acute injury unless under the direction of a sports medicine professional.

I like the product. It provides some nice compression as well as heat or cold over the entire shoulder area subject to injury. My only criticism is it seems to cool off or warm up a bit during the last 5 minutes, a little more than I would like it to do. This was an great purchase. It works as a shoulder pack and also can be used for your back and knees. The material is stretchy and with the velcro on it, you can really configure it how you want. I have chronically bad shoulders. This helps keep the swelling down after working out or swimming. The only fault is a design flaw that allows the gel packs to move out of position and slightly reduces the usefulness.Customer Review: Good wrap

Good item to ice down the shoulder after exertion without having to sit in one place for the cooldown, just to keep the ice or coldpack from slipping off. Just strap it on the shoulder and away you go.
