Thermal shoulder wrap with hot/cold reusable gel pack includedThe McDavid thermal shoulder wrap is designed to provide safe, effective, hands-free treatment for injuries with maximum comfort and convenience. The shoulder wrap works with both soothing hot or icy cold therapy, with an insulating neoprene material that helps maintain the desired temperature. Cold is generally applied to acute injuries immediately after trauma, as cold therapy constricts blood vessels to reduce the swelling, block pain, and promote healing. Compression and elevation are also important in the immediate treatment of acute injuries. By contrast, users should apply heat to chronic injuries (ongoing conditions). Heat therapy increases the blood flow to the injured area, helping the body remove and reabsorb cellular byproducts. Heat is also soothing, and can reduce pain and stiffness. Note, however, that heat should never be applied to an acute injury unless under the direction of a sports medicine professional.

This is a great little device--it provides cold and compression, and allows you to move around while recovering. I had a labrum repair followed by frozen shoulder, and icing is a must for comfort and sanity. I believe this is the least expensive such product with free shipping on Amazon, and it works great to boot. Makes frozen peas look like poop. For knee icing, CVS type stores offer a nice wrappable ice pack, but they don't really have good shoulder contraptions.Customer Review: Cured my rotator cuff pain

I had been suffering with terrible pain in my rotator for 8 months. I was at the point of having real difficultly putting on a coat or opening a door. I Have no idea how I injured my shoulder, but it wasn't getting any better with three times a day Advil and gentle rotator cuff exercise. I used this product with hot gel packs every night and within a week I had significant relief--within a month, the pain was completely gone. I was astonished.

This product absolutely ROCKS. I wish I had had one for my previous shoulder surgery. This has made the most recent surgery SO much more tolerable, it's fantastic for pain management and mild stabilization. This is a great way to ice your shoulder. The ice packs are nice and flexible and fit nicely into the compartments in the shoulder wrap. It allows you to be completely mobile while you ice your shoulder! I have not used it for warmth yet, but if you want to ice your shoulder this works great.Customer Review: Great buy!

The Thermal Shoulder wrap has worked out well for my bursistis pain. The Gel pack works well either with heat or cold, I use it "cold" which has helped a lot. The shoulder pack is made very well and is durable, I would recommend it to anyone who may need some pain relief.
